angol has a wind up leg. He could do anything when he lets it go. We looked decent going forward.

fair starting point but we made lots of fouls today, reflective of getting overrun all day.

 

Delighted with a last kick winner, great atmosphere, nothing wrong with the work rate, but that performance is a long way short against very average opposition. We struggled to get any sort of controlled possession or pressure and created very little. The first goal and the penalty, their keeper should have saved

He was and he was. No idea who you'd give MoTM though. No one stood out. I actually thought Gillead did ok, but he's not a winger

 

We have two players out who would have made a difference in the middle and Adams is trying to strengthen. Some people are stating the obvious.

They'd have given it to Angol because he scored two goals. These corporate folk have no idea - or its given to the player they want to meet.
I'd have given it to Cooke I think. At least he was trying to control the ball and dictate tempo.

We massively got out of jail there. AK on the wireless saying everything is rosy - he's like these corporate seats. Only sees the good things. We didn't control the midfield enough. Didn't have any creativity. Loads of chances, but nothing causing too much concern for their keeper - Angol especially showed why he's at this level. Cook disappeared in the second half. FCD has now learnt what "ripping a new one" means. Paudie seems to have gone into his shell. Gillead had a nice first half, anonymous in the second. Watt was the same old same old. LOVED the fact we won - and fair play to Angol for stepping up and scoring it (just) - but we're going to have much harder opposition than Oldham. Dezza - get yourself online on Monday and type in "goal poacher" "creative midfielder" and "right back".

 

If we play like that all season we will not be top 6. Guaranteed. Still onwards and upwards eh

Far from convincing performance but maybe the occasion got the better of a few of them as far too many of them were trying too hard and making mistakes. Still, important first win of the season under our belt with a few key players out and a fantastic atmosphere to boot so all things considered, I'm pretty happy and will enjoy my evening.

 

Looking at our side, most of those players were here last season so the influences of the new guys hasn’t been felt yet. We scraped a win but need the injured to return, and possibly an addition or two if there’s room.

 

Yeah...I was looking forward to hearing his opinions on the game....all a bit sudden tbh.

 

Edwin if you run the midfield your always in it mate. We were very poor in the middle hence Songo da man needs to get sorted asap. But we sounded okay up front . We have just played Exeter and Notts Forest away so as we always have said 'lets see after 10 games.'.. In Derek we trust. Excellent plus is, that I have never listened to a game like that for atmosphere superb

 

Not great quality but with our RB and two CDMs out and another dropping injured today we’ll take it. Didn’t think we deserved the win but couldn’t care less.

Great to be back most I’ve enjoyed a football match in a long time, you can keep your Euros City are back.

I think Threlkeld and Songo’o would make a big difference in our ability to impose ourselves on a game.
