Thinking about it I’m not surprised it is ticket only as they usually sell out the away end. Maybe there is the option of Midland Road too if they sell out quickly

 

Looking at Oldham's twitter page, it appears they only requested 1000 tickets because they believed there would be a pay on the day option for the rest. Some fans saying it is Oldham's fault for under ordering when they knew demand would be much higher. From City's pov, I can see why they wouldn't want huge numbers of fans turning up to pay on the day, it's one thing managing a couple of hundred away fans on a walk up, quite another if there are up to, or over a thousand of them, especially when you factor in Covid.

Edited to add, with a week to go, surely there is time for Oldham to request more tickets? Any not sold can be returned?

City announced 2nd August that it'd be all ticket with no pay on the gate. Last night the official Latics twitter have said that they requested 1000 tickets on the assumption that it would be pay at the gate but that there'd be another announcement later today. As it stands, no ticket details are on their website.

If Latics fans are indeed boycotting home matches and buying tickets directly from their club then I would not be at all surprised if WYP are getting a bit twitchy about the prospect of a few thousand ticketless Latics turning up and having to queue amongst City fans to try and get tickets from the ticket office because it'll be total chaos.

 

Their attendance on Saturday was around 500 up on their last home game in 19/20, so their boycott isn’t off to a great start.

 

Nothing as yet on the club Web site, surely they would comment on police advice @Bradford End.

 

Nothing really new there is no pay on the gate option for anybody

 

Why wouldn't it be all ticket ? Its our nearest rival and they could easily bring more than we can cater for if it were pay on the day and good weather (assuming away fans are in The Bradford End capacity 1,840). There is still five days to this match, the simple solution is Oldham ask for the rest of the away tickets, come and pick them up today and have four days to sell the other 840 tickets.

Its not exactly rocket science.

 

Sparks has just tweeted no POTG this season at Valley Parade for anyone. Oldham aware of this. They requested 1000 tickets but know more are available if wanted. Tickets sent on 3rd August and yet to be put on sale by Oldham.

 

I find it very strange that there is to be no POTG this season, seems a lost financial opportunity to me..

 

You can still pay on the day but either have to get a ticket from the ticket office or go online and get an e-ticket on your phone.

 

Well that's ok if that's right then I suppose..
Having a ST then it doesn't affect me but would never see me queuing for a ticket to queue again to get in..

 

So, how are we going to get in for any cup games then..?
