I’m sure I saw a piece yesterday saying the protests were not starting just yet and they did get over 4K to their game Saturday which I suspect had very few from Newport.
Compare that to some attendances with more visiting fans, like Harrogate, 600 visitors out of 1800 and it’s not really a protest vote at Oldham.

Yes, the protest group, 'Push The Boundary', announced that they are "putting the boycott on hold until we can be given more certainty around availability of pay on the day in away stadiums".

Interesting (perhaps totally sloppy journalism), but to suggest that City will have 15,000 ‘Bantams’ at the game seems to be a totally unfounded comment.
From what I read, we have 12,715 Season Ticket holders, so that would suggest we have sold a further 2,285+ who have bought tickets for the match!
They may well sell a few, but the actual attendance will be far less, with many anxious about returning and quite a few who will be away.

I think it's got a bit of marketing licence with the figures nudged up a bit. I've checked the overview of seat sales to compare the availability for this game with the Stevenage game which I'd expect not many match tickets to be sold for.

Apart from some blocks from from L of the JCT stand round to H of the Kop there's very little change in the rest of the stadium and with 20,000-21,000 home seats available I can't see how there is only 5,000 left available for home fans. To be 15,000 tickets sold I'd expect more limited availability blocks.

Curle has apparently tested positive for Covid and is isolating.

Surely he is a close contact of the players and as such the game may be in doubt?

Edit just seen they are playing Tranmere tonight and that is fine...I can't work out the rules anymore regarding testing and contacts, seems all very bizarre that the rest of the squad carry on

You can just see it now after all the hype of the 'homecoming' and the game gets cancelled.

Got a bad feeling about the game being on, such a lot of hype, I’ve looked forward to this day for ages and after a few of the Oldham players got the virus the other day, the manager has now got it. You can just see them calling it off on Thursday. Not sure of the rules, Harrogate just called 3 games off yet Oldham are playing tonight. What’s the difference?

Does seem weird and inconsistent but same was with England/Scotland players in Euros

I see that 2 or 3 Exeter players have tested positive, I hope they didnt pass it on to our lads, particularly Paudie who had a few tussles with Nombe who is one of the players tested positive

The main difference is Harrogate have said they can't fulfil the game and Oldham have said they can, depending on the outcome of the EFL investigation Harrogate could still be fined or worse for calling off the game. Like last season where teams played on despite players insolating etc Oldham probably didn't want to risk it. EFL have put in clear guidelines this summer which if followed should be nobody has to isolate for being a close contact unless they house share as things like distancing in the changing rooms, indoor areas and travel so no doubt Harrogate will be asked questions why so many are close contacts or if it's due to cases why they they so many.
If it hasn't already been announced I'd expect Rochdale to be given a bye against Harrogate as that match can't be rearranged before w/c 23rd August.

    Not the only one :-(

Even worse that there’s no Ifollow.

need to find a dodgy firestick seller before Sat or pay £2.50 to make do with listening to Kiwomya now……

would much rather paid the club a tenner for Ifollow.
