I think you might be right, heavy snow showers tomorrow and action replay on Tuesday. Stuart will not have been able to do anything today fields were flooded. Do we have a standby plastic? Pitch will be like a mud bath. I think it will be no bad thing if it is cancelled. Give Stuart a bit more time to work with the players

 

I'd like to see BRE out for Paudie, Connolly out for DMH and Middleton in instead of Pritchard. Don't think Pritchard really didn't anything wrong (or right) just think more width would be beneficial.

 

I was quite surprised that he was omitted from the matchday squad, I thought he would be very much a McCall type player.

Queensbury! Lol. More seriously when I posted that I was halfway down Manchester Rd. I've been out and about (passenger in car) and it's very changeable. One moment it's sunny, the next dark clouds and then the snow flurry comes in.

 

I tell you what. Under Bowyer, there would have been no chance of me going tonight. However, definitely going tonight to give Stuart and the team support

I'm not sure what Stuart was expecting with this odd selection of midfielders or this odd formation that doesn't suit the players selected but I'm guessing he wasn't expecting this.

DMH actually has a very good cross on him which is good to see, just made the wrong decisions a few times when in good positions.

 

Re decisions, even tho it’s a fair while since he left us, he’s still very immature in terms of good standard football. Hopefully his decision making can improve with game time.
He’s definitely got some potential for me.

 

Not convinced he has the fitness even for Halifax or Harrogate!!

 

I said that when we signed him, we've a squad of (generally) losers & wannabees. Of our players, I'd keep Donaldson, Reeves & McCarten, l'm struggling to think of another "quality " player. If Stuart gets this team promoted then he deserves a medal.

 

First half was appalling, honestly words failed me. We looked second best, last to the ball, we just didn’t have a clue. I thought well Stuart and Kenny have their work cut out for them to try and lift this team! Still not great 2nd half, but we found resilience and a way to win a game. McCarten was really good in the second half as was Connor Wood. So I am going to forget the performance and celebrate a win for a change and goals from open play.

I think Stuart deserves a lot of credit last night. We don’t normally score three, we don’t normally come back to win from being a goal down and we don’t normally have three strikers. It was a good idea to play McCartan on the left wing coming in to shoot. But the game management thing wasn’t perfect. In extra time DMH crossed lamely from near the corner when it would have been better to gain a corner. Similarly Connelly crossed too high for Reeves when tactically he might have done better to either retain possession or win a corner. Surprising bearing in mind we conceded late goals in previous two matches.

 

Annoys me as well, much rather see the team go for the two goal buffer rather than defend the one. Not even sure the stats would back up going to the corner flag as being effective, more often than not the opposition get the ball back fairly quickly.
