The worrying thing for me, from what he's saying, is that it sounds like they were never really close to making a decision on a full time manager. The fact that these two guys started to pick up the players, seems to have given them the option. He didn't once mention about other people being interviewed or considered, just said its an attractive job for others outside the club.

 

Why should he go into who was interviewed and who he was considering?

 

If its a last min injury, perhaps the youth keeper doesn't meet the covid testing requirements to be allowed to join

 

Why shouldn't he? Otherwise, people like me will just think he's taken the easy option, and given the job to two rookies based on recent results. Regardless of how well they've done, they are still unproven, and I'd like to think that their appointment, is not a knee jerk appointment due to the lack of quality or commitment from other people interviewed.

 

Or maybe they were unimpressed with the people they spoke to and want better
