Parader, said in an earlier post I have no probs at all with tonights result and again a number of positives can be taken from the performance - I actually think the fact we didnt win is no bad thing in that it will just focus minds in the days ahead. As you say, the quality were are lacking is still obvious, S&T have done wonderfully well but they now have the window to work with Turnbull and hopefully developments are already well in place. If you had offered anyone on here where we are now just a couple of weeks back we would all have taken it

Slightly disappointed not to win that, thought we were the better side and had the better chances - just lacked that quality and composure in the final third.

3 conceded in 5 is excellent form considering we were leaking like a sieve under McCall. But only 5 scored in 5 shows where the immediate attention in January needs to be.

So are we saying that any time a player falls over a keeper's arm, or a player's leg, when they arrive fractionally later than the opponent who got to the ball first, that that's a reckless tackle? Jesus wept - we might as well ban tackling and make it a non contact sport. Knocks and falls are part of the game. Arriving late and hurting a player is obviously a foul, and may require a card, depending on how late, high, forceful etc. Going for a ball you have no realistic chance of reaching without causing injury, likewise. But, in a genuine 50/50 race for the ball (as with Hornby on Tuesday) if you get there first and touch the ball and the (later) opponent then falls over you, that's just part of the game, surely?

 

Inexperienced or not, surely the young lad Ombang could have been put on the bench, surely a better option than an outfield player.
Edit: seems there is an older lad, Donaghy, who normally plays for U-18 team.
