Rodded again… aint going nowhere with rod in goal.. why is he rooted on his goal line on a 1 to 1, narrow the angle and make it difficult for the striker, also learn to catch ffs!

 

Man United will probably sack their manager tonight and they are 6 points off a champions league place whereas Leeds sit 4th bottom and think their manager is fantastic.
It’s all about expectations.
Our aim and expectations are to be in the auto promotion places in the basement division and rightly so. Anything less than that and the manager is risking the sack.
In contrast if Sutton finish 9th they’ll have exceeded expectations.

 

Also, why are we persisting with the long throws? We don't have a long throw specialist in the side, nor do we have a striker who can win a header.

 

Surely Boyeson was man of the match for his one man comedy show.
It's time he retired.
After 10 minutes it was obvious that Robinson couldn't win a header against those central defenders so why didn't the management team tell the City players to stop hoofing It?
Despite his tantrums I think O'Donnell could have made a better attempt at saving the shot he conceded.

 

Boyesons performance only papers over what was a truly awful game of football. Neither of these sides should trouble the promotion spots but the standard of this league is that awful one of us may well go up. No one above a 6 out of 10 in the ratings today.

Our goal seemed a bit lucky with their player missing the ball from what I saw but at least we got a point from today against a play off team.

Still need to be playing better in the grand scheme of things if we want to achieve anything this season.

 

What I am hating most about this season is oppo teams coming and being all anti-football. Northampton today didn't come to win. They came not to lose and con the ref as much as they could. And didn't they just do that. I thought I was watching Northampton diving school today, go anywhere near them and they were on the floor. They went down more than a cheap prostitute up Thornton Road.

ROD beaten AGAIN at his near post and WTF was that shite punch all about second half. Catch the ball man.

We lost so many 1 to 1 headers today.

Robinson was thrown under the bus by DA playing him as a lone striker.

Ridalgh and Vernam linked up well down the left.

The upside? We haven't lost to the teams who occupy the places we should be in right now.

It's not the oppo team to worry about the style of play. We are the home team and we have to play better.

Adams style won't work for us and it isn't. Teams are coming to VP playing anti football but controlling the game.

How does Robinson who's not quite 5 ft 9 compete for headers against two central defenders who are 6 ft 3??

I mean, really, how crap were those tactics to hoof it up to him and hope??

Northampton came for a draw and our super manager set up to counter them. He said that after the match - we went with four at the back otherwise Northampton's full backs would have got behind us apparently.

He said similar about our formation against Port Vale, Exeter etc... We are setting up to counter the opposition not trying to win the game. So when teams like Northampton or Forest Green come to draw, we just get suckered into some kind of turgid stalemate.

It's awful management. And worse that he's reluctant to make any changes to formation or tactics as the game goes on. Port Vale is the only match so far where we pressed for a winner late in the second half.

 

No, he had a tough task today.

Lavery is supposedly the same height, but seems smaller when I watch him. Reckon Robinson is better in the air overall.

We did miss Cook and Angol, it felt like an entire dimension missing from our play.

'Adams style won't work for us ' - you've said that about every manager we've had since I joined this forum. I am sure only a few weeks ago you were reaffirming Adams is the right man for the job!
