That was a really tough game and a fantastic result. I thought it was a tight game. Both teams played well. We looked good on the ball. Vernham MOTM but Evans and Rowe deserve honourable mentions.
The two goals towards the Kop were identical in that neither was intended. And it was really an og for our firstStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Wakefield Bantam, Botswana Bantam and bantamdave41 like this. -
Watching that Oldham debacle, could you believe City could put in a defensive display like that? Canavan a cool head to balance Paudie. AOC really grew into game. Great passing going forward and some direct running at pace. You can’t possibly be failed to be impressed with T &S.

How good is it at last to have three good centre forwards we all know Novak can do the business when fit, Cooke is an old fashioned battering ram type player as for Rowe at least from what we have seen so far it’s a mystery at his age that he hasn’t played higher up that bit of play where he got a cross in for Vernham which he should of buried was magic hope he keeps it up

Can't be arsed reading that morecambe review but it feels good to beat them as they've always been a bit of a bogey team. I thought they were decent and well organised. But we deserved that after playing really well and creating far more clear cut chances than them.
Their goal was a freak shot as was our second so that evened out! A Cook should have buried that header second half, Vernam had a great chance in the first half and Canavan was a whisker away from scoring and c Cooke also came very close. Their guy mendes was a handful and AOC did brilliantly well to nick the ball when he was through on goal. But otherwise they were resorting to long range speculative efforts and pumping long balls in which paudie and Canavan kept clearing.
Exactly the kind of game we'd have lost previously!

Form. Despite Morecambe sitting in the play off part of the table, their away form is not that brilliant. Over the last 8 games, they have won 2, drawn 3 and lost 3 and sit 16th in the away table over that period, as opposed to City, who are 11th over the same number of matches.
Acknowledging @wetherbywhaler post, the weather forecast seems to suggest light rain, which shouldn’t really cause any problems.
At present Morecambe have a home match on Saturday which apparently is on, against Scunthorpe. So arguably they should be more tired than City!
If we are going to pull away from the bottom end of the table, then a win is what is required and should be achievable. -

I sort of get the disgruntlement as any goals are discounted in rearranged fixtures, but is it really ok to write off wreckless play during what is a live game of professional football? Studs up straight red leading to a broken leg, as an extreme example, to get the debate rolling.

I didn't realise Mellor and NKP are at Morecambe. Amazing the amount of players who were underwhelming here, who're involved at top 7 clubs in this league.
