No he hasn't he's been hauled off almost every game for a reason. He's poor and will be struggling to get on the bench

Probably been stated earlier, but I thought Watt was great last night. I've been on his back during the last few games for going anonymous in patches. Last nights game he was the instigator of many of our moves and seemed to thrive on it. Perhaps due to this, Cooke was a little quiet. But it's great now that we've got lots of outlets - Vernam and Evans in particular.

Defence did OK. AOC had the better game vs Wood at full back. Don't know what's happend to CW, but he just doesn't seem as direct anymore - going forward or charging back. POC did well, but needs to shut his mouth a bit. I thought he was gonna lamp that little Spaniard for appealing for a handball. Little Spaniard was a great player, and the only one to cause us any trouble. I actually thought AOC brought him down for a pen. If we'd have had VAR it would have been a nervous time (and probably would have ruled Evans for interfering from play and cancelled out our goal).

Cook looks a tryer, but am not sure what his role is. He's not tall enough to be a targetman, and doesn't look nippy enough to be a poacher. Rowe made a great impact when he came on, some lovely touches and turns. Looks exciting, and I hope whatever illness he had, he's completely over it.

And finally, some nice tactics from the two managers. SMc would have dragged all our attackers off and defended the lead. We put on pace and took the game to them. Great stuff!

Agree O’donnell shouldn’t be skipper but he is our best keeper. Hornby is rash. He got lucky at home to Port Vale when ref didn’t award a pen. That could have cost us a point. He cost us a point at Exeter rushing off his line. Now O’D is fit he should be recalled as we need our best XI on the field and GK isn’t a position you need to rotate.

But how many points did ROD cost us? I don’t believe there’s much between the two being honest. Hornby has played more games with this defensive set up and they, as a unit are doing fine. Why would you want to upset the apple cart when we’ve seen disarray under ROD in the past?

I disagree he was one of the few players under McCall who played anything like, and has been as good as anyone under T&S, that's nothing to do with fawning, I'm sure they realise that they have to win the shirt and that will be far harder than it was several games ago.
My post was not about once their fit bringing the said players back as starters, my post was more about the way others are playing and getting results hence the " how do we fit those players in".

How good is it at last to have three good centre forwards we all know Novak can do the business when fit, Cooke is an old fashioned battering ram type player as for Rowe at least from what we have seen so far it’s a mystery at his age that he hasn’t played higher up that bit of play where he got a cross in for Vernham which he should of buried was magic hope he keeps it up

I said at the time, it was almost Bobby Mooresq. Perfect timing in an absolute certain goal scenario.

Absolutely agree. Clarke has, and will continue to, play a part and will do it well. Not least his ability and willingness to tackle back. That said, he will find it difficult to get Vernam out of the team.

I thought Cooke was playing on the left yesterday, Evans certainly seemed more central and more effective. Perhaps if they stick with that and Cooke's form drops a bit then that's his route back, but for now it will be great to have him on the bench. Probably instead of Stevens.

fluke or not from that distance the kid was nowhere near the cross it will be interesting to see how T&S saw it and if they think O'Donnell makes us a better defensive unit.

he did cost us points, point taken.

I just think he’s more solid of the two - neither are fantastic though.

simon parker saw it same as me anyway, so not alone!

at the end of the season I think we need a new no. 1 but we’ll get by for now.

It can't have been. Connor Wood was getting absolute pelters at 1 0 down and that's despite him creating our 2 clearest chances of the half so far.
