    Jesus! I would have thought the biggest thing counter productive to staying sane is being a follower of Bradford City.
    Got to go - the nurse is calling me for tea. Its jelly again

    Bradford City back to winning ways with a 3-1 win. Rowe to score 2, onwards and upwards.

    I remember distinctly hearing the bone break, we were in the Midland Road towards the Kop end. The FA never increased the match day sanction, which seems appalling. The fact that City and Watson brought a case for ‘negligence’ which was subsequently won in court, was some vindication. I find it interesting that David ‘Bronco’ Layne was imprisoned and then banned from playing football, perhaps demonstrates that the Football authorities could be seen to put money before players welfare. :whistle:

    Very good game. Slow into the game but thats a minor criticism.

    Very good team performance from front to back. Shout out to AOC, Watt but just about MOTM was Vernam

    Who'd have thought we could have even contemplated a play off place 9 games ago, and watching tonight we will get better.

    We don't. And that's not to be harsh, I just don't see starting roles for Clarke and Novak. I think its a positive that we don't have to rely on Staunton and we can give him room to develop, so that doesn't concern me. And I'd love to see Hossanah in this side. He was the one Ray of quality in mccalls stint and i think he'd link well well Vernam down the right. I'm hoping we can keep him around next season.

    Can't be arsed reading that morecambe review but it feels good to beat them as they've always been a bit of a bogey team. I thought they were decent and well organised. But we deserved that after playing really well and creating far more clear cut chances than them.

    Their goal was a freak shot as was our second so that evened out! A Cook should have buried that header second half, Vernam had a great chance in the first half and Canavan was a whisker away from scoring and c Cooke also came very close. Their guy mendes was a handful and AOC did brilliantly well to nick the ball when he was through on goal. But otherwise they were resorting to long range speculative efforts and pumping long balls in which paudie and Canavan kept clearing.

    Exactly the kind of game we'd have lost previously!

    Edit Evans also came so close to scoring but for some smart defending from them. We really had so many good chances is a shame we couldn't have made it more comfortable

    Hes a subtle player. Not a flying winger but his movement is good, he's reliable in possession and his decision making is good. He works hard too. He's the ideal foil to Vernam

    But how many points did ROD cost us? I don’t believe there’s much between the two being honest. Hornby has played more games with this defensive set up and they, as a unit are doing fine. Why would you want to upset the apple cart when we’ve seen disarray under ROD in the past?

    In the first half I thought we were shaky down both flanks. Too many crosses were coming in. We improved across the board second half. Interesting that AOC is credited with having a very strong game and for the most part he did, though its worth keeping in mind that his goal saving challenge when their lad was through only came about because he was out of position in the first place. That said, I like AOC at right back. I think he's better there than CB.

    And that statement sums up just how far we have fallen, when we are worried about winning a home match v Morecambe.

    I prefer to go on form tables than the table overall as things change through a season, we are an inform team still and shouldn’t be worried about anyone at home. Get into them and let them worry about us and let’s take the 3 points.

    Danny Rowe has been a bull-necked, try anything confidence player for most of his career. I'm still amazed that it took so long for League clubs to sign him up. What he's already shown for us, is that he's a force of nature. Let's hope we can relish the last years of his career at VP.

    Until a certain David Whelan got involved in 1995 they were a division three team, the only time we've had anyone with that sort of clout as owner was in the Richmond/Rhodes era, but your correct we should never stop hoping the next season will be our season.
    A win on Tuesday night could get us back on a run with plenty of points to play for and for players to make a statement for next season.

    I can't see how Watt is suspended.

    The rules are:
    5 yellows in the first 19 matches = 1 match suspension;
    10 yellows in the first 37 matches = 2 match suspension;
    15 yellows in the 46 regular season matches = 3 suspension; and
    20 yellows in the 46 regular season matches = determined by regulatory commission.

    Not surprised Evans looked off against Exeter since he didn’t play tbh, not easy to make an impression on the physio table. Don’t worry about Watt either not sure you get banned for a yellow card.
