Well that’s your opinion I think he has done ok and will play his part

 

100%. The work he put in to support FCD seems to get conveniently forgotten about by those that don't rate him. He might not be first choice anymore but with all the games coming up, he will still have a part to play and will give his all when called upon.

 

Wood's a decent League 2 full back, who, with a bit of development could be a regular and decent L1 full back. And people forget, he's played only one full season of professional football before this one. His breakthrough season in L1 saw him out of the side as much as in it. He's had how many managers, played in 3 or 4 positions and had had umpteen left sided midfielders/forwards in front of him. I don't see him as a wing back at all - he's a much better full back and has a very good cross on him. A bit of consistency around his position, manager and left side partner and I think we'll see him really kick on.

I don't think either he or the keeper were at fault for their goal btw. It was just a freak incident.

 

Total tosh mate. Even when not at his best going forward Clarke gets through a lot of work tracking back.

 

He's fine. There's a video of him eating an apple at training the other day and we all know what happens if you do that every day.

 

They were underwhelming for us in L1, not L2.
Actually, NKP was a mixed bag. He had periods when he looked really good for us. In our Wembley playoff season, under Stuart, he looked class alongside Vincelot and then Rory. At Bury (again in L1) he was nicknamed Rolls Royce because he looked so classy. I think he's a good player in a team with good players around him. Not so good in a muck and nettles scrap though.
Mellor never convinced me though. Could be good going forward but always had a mistake in him or got caught out of position. I'd fancy Vernham or Crankshaw to give him problems.

Surprising no Rowe tonight should be in if he is fully fit

 

If that header from Vernham goes in its one of the best goals we've scored in a long time. Rowe is key to how we play.

 

Vernam won't spend long in League 2.

 

Yeah Charlie Vernam can play in L1 for sure. Burton must have been a bad fit for some reason.

Rowe's crossing near the end was fantastic. Deserved an assist.

 

Really enjoyed that, for a number of reasons. Morecambe don't lose many games from winning positions; that's a big test passed.

I thought both teams played their part and it was an entertaining game. We put together a a few really good attacking moves and you can see signs that Rowe and Vernam will be too good for many teams to deal with. I like the look of Crankshaw too. Canavan, very solid at the back.

You can see that with a couple of the right additions in the summer, we could be a force next season.

They were watching a different game to me.

 

We've 20 games left, it's not about an 11. Playing most weeks now Sat/Tues/Sat we'll need everyone.
It's pleasing we have so many good options now

 

Guilty of judging Evans too early, he’s really putting his stamp on the games and seems to be improving every week.

I disagree he was one of the few players under McCall who played anything like, and has been as good as anyone under T&S, that's nothing to do with fawning, I'm sure they realise that they have to win the shirt and that will be far harder than it was several games ago.
My post was not about once their fit bringing the said players back as starters, my post was more about the way others are playing and getting results hence the " how do we fit those players in".

 

Unless he's coming back from injury or illness, I would never have Rowe on the bench! He will become a player for us that we'll talk about in years to come.
