We were shite AND WON.......
Come on people, we ground out a result, probably got a bit lucky but who cares!! We go again Tuesday, I said on an earlier post the next three matches were must wins, well that’s one down two to go. we can’t play like the Northern Barcelona every game!!
we’re very much in the hunt!!

 

Sorry have to disagree on this Aoc so far this season has been pretty consistent playing centre half stood in well at Full back and done a job in midfield and scored the winner today. If he is realistic with his wage demands I think it’s a no brainier we should give him a new contract

 

And yet we still won

I was reading the posts and thinking what a miserable bunch we have at times. It's as though very few are capable of seeing the sun - because they've been so used to 3 years off grey clouds

 

Not the Don's fault that he had nobody getting near him or making runs for him to find. Time after time he had the ball, being hounded by two or more defenders, and had no positive options available.

Maybe you missed the part where Paudie got skinned and their player hit a pretty powerful shot from about 8 yards out that O'Donnell did well to save?

I'm surprised we haven't drawn or lost more games so far with our approach of being one up and playing safe.

 

Reaching the playoffs , from the position we were in , would be a fantastic achievement. I would take another 10 scrappy 1-0 wins to achieve it. We were really good at Newport and got nothing. You can play like world beaters and still lose. Man city yesterday is a perfect example.
Lets get there first and then use the summer transfer window to address the shortcummings.

 

They were used to Hornby coming and taking the high ball, now they don’t know what’s happening. We’ve just become a bit disorganised and need to get back to how we were a few weeks ago. Make no mistake, Hanson will be handful. Let’s hope the ref gives as many fouls against him, as they did when he played for us....

 

Three matches this week all winnable but there again how many times have we said that. But if it happened the league next Saturday evening could be very interesting

Very ugly win. Got away with a pretty wretched performance.

Hope we don't see that starting line-up again.

However, still seven huge games left and the possibility of getting into the playoffs remains.

 

Just to point out that in the last few matches Tranmere Salford and Cheltenham have all failed to beat Grimsby. So anybody thinking this was going to be a walkover were wrong

 

Not a convincing performance by a long shot but then as has been pointed out, Cheltenham, Salford, Tranmere and Carlisle have all recently failed to beat them. Maybe T&S did chose the right team to do that, it wasn't pretty and was almost pedestrian at times but we got the 3 points.

 

Vital 3 points. Played poor and still managed to win.

 

I am not in the slightest bothered about the performance, its results that is the most important thing now, and we do seem to have the knack of getting results under T&S
