Self inflicted by T&S picking a poor side and not changing it as soon it was obvious we were second best even after 10 minutes, Not good enough

Can only repeat we were a very poor League 2 team up to November, T&S and the January window made us an average League 2 team but always said there is still an awful lot to do.
T&S get results probably beyond our wildest expectations (but noticeably not performances) and hopes are raised a promotion push is truly on - but it doesnt change this team is nowhere near good enough for League 1, let alone the top end of League 2.
It is vital T&S finish this season well so our plans for the summer have some momentum - tonight is a set back for what had become our immediate goal this season (play offs) but realistically this team is not ready to progress and for a higher level. It should not be a surprise (Fordy has been saying all along that we are not good enough) and it hurts because it feels like we are missing a bit of an opportunity, but in the games I have managed to see we are honestly not a promotion team.
I hope we can raise our game v Harrogate because they embarrassed us on national tv - but some of the players look like they have 'hit a wall' - we can only hope Messrs Sparkes and Turnbull are taking all of this in

But it's his distribution that's so bloody frustrating. He hardly ever looks to release the ball early and decisively. Spends a bloody age looking around him, which allows the opposition to track back and regroup - and then invariably balloons it long. Most times we have the advantage with the ball in his hand, it's a loft upfront to create a 50/50 ball - ergo, a 50/50 chance of it coming straight back at us.

Deja Vu the Grimsby game. We fell lucky and won that. Not this time around. Too cautious, too conservative, completely uninspiring. The only times I got anywhere near excited was with Donaldson's nouse and vision. We currently start every game in first gear and never get much past second.

Crawley were there for the taking at the start. They were expecting us to go at them and we handed the initiative straight over. Donaldson or Cook should have started.

I'd like to see what Evans can do at right back. Played there often with Pompey. I don't think he offers much in the 3 behind a striker, but we need more from our full backs with the ball. I'd like to see whether he'd be a reasonable option for that role next season, before we have to go summer shopping.

    Don't agree
At the time T&S took control play offs did seem a pipe dream but they turned it around in a very poor league and were well within touching distance, 3 months of "crap" has nothing to do with it we were in my opinion favourites to grab a play off place the same 2 men responsible for saving our season are responsible for us not being in the play offs at the end of it, Saturday and tonight we're down to tactics employed by them, not a knee jerk reaction they steadied the ship but for some reason not capable of seeing the job through, inexperience maybe
Season over now whether they are the right men for next season is debatable great in a backs against the wall situation but lacking when it comes to pushing us forward

Rowe probably is a luxury player which makes it more frustrating because he has a lot of quality. He must have been watched by loads of clubs during his years at AFC Fylde and those clubs probably realised what we have found out now, it's hard to fit him into any system. You really need a very strong midfield three (in front of a back four) to be able to give him a free role, which I should imagine AFC Fylde were able to do at the level they were playing.

It is not coincidence that most of the goals we let in are headers from crosses, We have a passive keeper who relies on defenders winning headers EVERY time, The ones they cannot win will fly past the keeper as he is rooted on his line,
Hornby at least was more pro active in helping the defence,
The opposition coaches have noticed this and use it against us

    Absolute nonsense.

No keeper in the land is getting anywhere near either cross last night. The reason we conceded was because we have a weak right back and a right sided centre half that continually marks a space rather than following his man.

This is why we need to question T & S now.

Bolton were 19th in Feb and now in the top 3 but mainly because of Doyle.

If Rowe is this goalscorer and that's all he can do really then you need to find a system to get the best out of the goalscorer. If we want to play like a MORECAMBE then we might as well get rid of Rowe.

The the way T & S are using Rowe currently its starting to look like they just don't know what to do with him. I would be looking to play to his strengths but T & s are stuck in this 4-2-3-1 formation.

What should be a good signing is looking like a poor one everyday.

If T & S are not going to explain how they want to play to the recruitment director then we will have problems.

Rowe was signed and no doubt discussed in how he would fit in.

AFC Flyde was a different situation mate. We knew what Rowe was all about and should have thought can we build a team around this goalscorer. Bowyer messed up with Doyle and T & S are doing it with Rowe but I suppose we can try to get rid of Rowe in the summer and go with someone else that will fit into what T & S want but communication has to be on point with the recruitment director or we will have many bad signings that on paper should be good.

I was replying to his comments regarding last night. I agree that ROD is one of those keepers that seems rooted to his line, Colin Doyle was exactly the same. But he could do nothing about last nights goals, they were defensive errors that have crept back into our game. IMO Hornby should not have been dropped after one bad game, it was like Trueman was desperate to shoehorn ROD back in.

Donaldson and Sutton had to start last night, both for their energy and influence they bring to the team. We were as flat as a fart without them.

I can see why Burton weren't interested in keeping Vernham. Apart from the odd flash he doesn't looking anything special to me. DMH would have got pelters on here for exactly the same performances.

That's the job of good managers. Realizing that only idiots keep doing the same failing things in the hope that it will somehow change. If we have any chance left at making seventh, we MUST go for it. ATTACK, ATTACK! And you're absolutely right, let other teams worry about us, in that process.

Can't see a lot in this to be honest as per the Grimsby match a 1-0 mind numbing win
