We either have to find a way of getting Rowe alongside another striker or he's a luxury we can't afford. He'll get the odd worldy, but either can't or won't put the effort into play the lone striker role. Playing back to goal is no more his natural game than it was Doyle's or Vaughan's. How many more strikers are we going to make look ineffective by playing them as target men when they clearly aren't?

It’s the only answer to such a crass comment these two came in to save it’s from relegation and we are up there.

I don’t think we needed to change out both Cook and Donaldson. We had no one up top at all for that first half. Too soon for Scales and FCD, both down the right and Crawley passed around them. AOC at right back (if Canavan is fit), put Sutton back in and have Cook and Donaldson back in. It’s not a time for inexperienced youth.

As for the tempo, it’s ingrained in them so much that they struggle to get out of first gear and if they do, it’s chaos. Chance missed but it looks like the results haven’t been too bad.

He has good feet, good distribution, better than his head or holding up ability/play. That’s why.

we are dreadfull at set pieces in both attack and defence. free headers for both goals from good quality crosses. Aoc Cavanan and finn cousin should all have scored from their chances. Rowe does not fit into this team and Vernom is a waste of space.
Another re-build needed in the summer.
the keeper can not be blamed for any of that tonight.

I think people mean he can't head the ball. He controls it well when to feet, either in the air or ground, but he's not a great header of the ball. He barely jumps.

You don't go up winning by fine margins, you end up mid table which is what this team is. In truth no better or worse than 90% of teams in this division. Poor management tonight though, to waste 45 minutes when we desperately need the win thwows question out about their credentials.

    Where was Paudie?

Ok FCD was under the ball but the other player closest was Anthony O'Connor. Where was the right centre back organising the area?

Finn is raw though, he needs coaching and assisting through the game at times unfortunately.

Can only repeat we were a very poor League 2 team up to November, T&S and the January window made us an average League 2 team but always said there is still an awful lot to do.
T&S get results probably beyond our wildest expectations (but noticeably not performances) and hopes are raised a promotion push is truly on - but it doesnt change this team is nowhere near good enough for League 1, let alone the top end of League 2.
It is vital T&S finish this season well so our plans for the summer have some momentum - tonight is a set back for what had become our immediate goal this season (play offs) but realistically this team is not ready to progress and for a higher level. It should not be a surprise (Fordy has been saying all along that we are not good enough) and it hurts because it feels like we are missing a bit of an opportunity, but in the games I have managed to see we are honestly not a promotion team.
I hope we can raise our game v Harrogate because they embarrassed us on national tv - but some of the players look like they have 'hit a wall' - we can only hope Messrs Sparkes and Turnbull are taking all of this in

The excuses were made on Saturday where we won but actually played worse than tonight although not by much. We're blowing a chance we might not get again for a few seasons and it's painful to see.

When you compare how bad we are at defending them, it makes it even harder to swallow how bad we are. We offer ZERO threat.

You have to agree with Andy K - tempo non-existent. Poor defending for both goals. We did actually create a few chances but time and time again nowhere near clinical enough in front of goal.

It was always an outside chance to get to the play offs it was the three months of crap that we had to endure before they came in which meant they had nothing to fall back on.
One transfer window only to reshape a struggling side these two have made massive strides

If we went up this season we'd basically need an entire new squad.

Everyone is always arguing that every player in the team is too poor for League two so goodness know how they think they'd suddenly perform really well in League one!!!

But it's his distribution that's so bloody frustrating. He hardly ever looks to release the ball early and decisively. Spends a bloody age looking around him, which allows the opposition to track back and regroup - and then invariably balloons it long. Most times we have the advantage with the ball in his hand, it's a loft upfront to create a 50/50 ball - ergo, a 50/50 chance of it coming straight back at us.

and he's doing what with those skills exactly? Simple fact is, he doesn't fit our current team. AKA - luxury player or impact sub.

Now now mate I don't think that's what I said ;). were all hurting mate but our anger should be aimed at T&S, easy I know to be smart after the event but Donaldson had been playing well so he gets dropped, yet when he brought him on he was once again one of the better players on the pitch.
I'm sure T&S thought that was the correct starting 11 but as above first 10/15 minutes we had nothing to offer and Crawley got better as the game progressed.

Not good enough though. I still think our midfield is the main problem area. AOC, not a midfielder, Watt, slow and unfit, Evans, time to retire, Scales, jury out , Vernam supposedly a top L2 midfielder but too deep and starved of the ball in space to make an impact.
