They don't know what role they want Rowe to play. You need energy at the side of him to make up for his complete lack of movement. A player than needs a team building around him and I'm not sure that's the manager's intentions.

Forget next season, this season was there for the taking. Maybe we have over achieved because this squad looks distinctly average now. Possibly a victim of their own success they deserve another transfer window but if we don't see promotion this or next season they are done.

So, so frustrating. With Crawley's recent form we should have been going for the jugular (or as AK would say, juggler) from Minute One - using TWO strikers (Rowe behind Cook). Way too cautious, way too conservative. This was, on paper, a far more winnable game than some of those to come.

I'm not convinced about the argument for rotating either. Two games (almost) every week shouldn't be too demanding for professional athletes. Too often someone has a good game/games then gets dropped. Cook is far and away the obvious front man, putting constant pressure on defences. That omission was glaring. And whilst admittedly the Don is getting on a bit, he's been like a new player in recent games, and indeed brought an appreciable improvement when he came on.

This is a pretty poor division and it just seems such a waste. Yeah, very frustrating.

My point which you missed was
Great they rescued the season and got us in a position of safety due to this league being very poor they found themselves in a position of play off contenders but fluffed it for whatever reason Nowhere have I said the managers should be changed they proved very successful in saving us from relegation but in my opinion lacking in the last push for a play off position Hope that's cleared up any "nonsense"

I really don't see why we need two managers... who's calling the shots

They both stand apart like wet lettuces , there not exactly screaming at the players from the sidelines

No wonder our lads have the gumption of a wet fart

Can't these two fire themselves and the players up a bit and come out full of energy rather than miss passing it round the back to stationary players

Looks like everyone needs a rocket up there arses

They didn’t”fluff it” to keep on going after being so far behind when they started with one transfer window was an almost impossible task.

Deja Vu the Grimsby game. We fell lucky and won that. Not this time around. Too cautious, too conservative, completely uninspiring. The only times I got anywhere near excited was with Donaldson's nouse and vision. We currently start every game in first gear and never get much past second.
No it's not a play off team, because we're not playing for it. Crawley are mid table, nothing much to play for. We were three points off the play offs before this game, and played like we were trying to avoid relegation. Cautious, conservative, in our shell. And so...Crawley won 0-2. T&S have done a great job lifting us up the table and away from the dreaded relegation. But we seem to have lost ambition - or nouse in knowing how to get further up the table.
The whole division is full of knackered and injured players, thanks to all the Covid rearrangements. We're actually no worse off than most of the clubs in L2.

    You said it !!
They were so far behind but managed to get within a win ( tonight) of being strongly fancied for a play off spot, due to negative tactics that's now gone
Maybe that's down to the tea lady in your mind, next season this league will be a lot stronger and harder to get out of so yes I see it as an opportunity squandered

Nothing to do with tactics tonight. It’s down to not having quite the strength of squad needed from one transfer window. Particularly in midfield let’s see where we are next season if we don’t make it this time

We have started the last five games on the back foot but got the result we wanted
Tonight once again slow to start and got beaten by a team who came with a game plan let us have ball until we got within 30yards of there goal and beat us to every ball
T&S say players are tired i dont accept that they only play 180mins a week i work 5.5days a week and cant say i cant give 100% because i am tired
If we continue like we have played recently Harrogate, Tranmere, Port Vale, will beat us without breaking sweat
My message to all players is start playing from minute 1to 90 not 75 to 90 or is it you dont want the play offs you would sooner be on Holiday?

Rowe probably is a luxury player which makes it more frustrating because he has a lot of quality. He must have been watched by loads of clubs during his years at AFC Fylde and those clubs probably realised what we have found out now, it's hard to fit him into any system. You really need a very strong midfield three (in front of a back four) to be able to give him a free role, which I should imagine AFC Fylde were able to do at the level they were playing.

That was Swindon in the 80s and we were 3 nil down when thick fog caused the match to be abandoned, we drew the rearranged game 2-2.

Yep it’s the same tactics which until tonight that had garnered more points than anybody else during their time. It’s about players not tactics

Agree. The pace we played at, gave Crawley the opportunity to soak up what we had to offer and it felt inevitable that they would score.
So many games, we come ‘out of the blocks’ like a sprinter wearing lead boots (probably two sizes to small).
It may well be the players, but I think the managers/coaches have some responsibility to get them playing at a reasonable tempo, be that by: set up, personnel or straight conditioning.
They need to hit the pitch with an intense pressing game, not allow the opposition to soak up what little pressure we can offer and then score.

Yes it's the same tactics, the thing is that in the last few games we've looked very pedestrian. When Trueman and Sellers took over tactics were basically the same but it was an high energy pressing game that was successful but the players have either forgotten that or haven't got the legs for it now.
