We see that game out if we have 3 decent options to bring off the bench.

 

They looked knackered because they were pressing high all first half. They were going to be tired by the end of the second half.

We needed some subs on and it annoys me because he can't say he's not playing Robinson or Lavery or whoever because he wants to save them for Tuesday with 2 quick games because we all know it will be the same team again on Tuesday!!

It's actually a self inflicted problem with Adams. Put on some subs and let then run around and try and keep the ball up the pitch rather than surrendering possession and hoping to hang on. He's stupidly stubborn and it's cost today.

 

I'm not going to criticise the work rate today. We pressing hard through the second-half, even ten fifteen yards into the Bristol half, but that is tough to sustain throughout.

Levi Sutton also seemed to be creeping forward as the game progressed, which started to leave a bit of space behind him. Get a third goal from this and we would be having a different discussion now, but we didn't.

I hope we try and freshen the side up a bit for Tuesday. That was a tired side by the end of the game.

 

For the first 70 mins there was only 1 team winning that game and for the last 20 mins there was only one team winning that game.

When we went ahead we were actually 5th in the live league table on BBC

DA should have thought about freshening things up around 80 mins to give the defence some protection as it was all one way traffic at that point. Even bring Canavan on to provide extra cover? Go 5 4 1 to protect the points they were battering us anyway so take Vernham off and bring Canavan on.

Cooke , Cook and Vernham were out on their feet in the last 10 mins.

First half they looked the poorest team I have seen for a while and in the second we made them look like Barcelona.

Ridalgh injured, Watt looked like he had pulled his hamstring. Foulds seemed to be limping towards the end and Songo' look really crocked just after that goal was disallowed. Christ if they are injured for Tuesday we are now down to the bare bones and its (gulp) Hartlepool next.

Another big week coming up to see if DA has any faith at all in his "fringe" players. Like others have said earlier he seems a stubborn *@?$. Dunno if that trait is helping or hindering us right now.

 

It was a good away point though.

 

Cant disagree with that but as manager he's the one who's jobs on the line, not that I think there is any panic as yet and although @Bantamsteve might not like it his training methods seem to have worked at his previous clubs (sorry Steve), even Ryan mentioned it on a pod cast with the Posh owner saying we wont see an immediate improvement but it will become obvious in the latter stages of the season.

 

To be fair it was Mr Sparks who said the new manager was involved with transfer/contract negotiations before the season finished I thought it extremely odd at the time

 

The team were desperate for some fresh legs,the worrying thing is the manager was the only one who didnt see it,especially with a game coming up on tuesday

 

The thinking with regards moving Songo into Watts position might have been with Songo getting a knock, although he had looked to have run it off maybe Adams thought a fresh pair of legs in the midfield was required as Bristol were throwing everything forward he could still have brought Scales on and substituted Songo for Canavan at 6'4" he would have been a better option to keep Pitman quite.

 

I'm in a similar boat , on both points made.

I go solely with my 14 year old daughter, I've now got to the point after six years of her coming along where I don't know if she goes because she thinks I expect her to go or I go because I think that's what she wants. I genuinely couldn't be arsed yesterday but went away. Due to circumstances I've missed 2 or 3 games already so thought I'd be buzzing yesterday but I weren't. The second point regarding the standard, and I know I'm talking a massive jump here, but we've been taking advantage of the cheap tickets at man city for champions league games. She is in no way inclined to switch allegiance but from the way she speaks it's clear she can see and understand the vast quality differences and chuckles when she watches one of our lot struggle with a simple ten yard pass which CL full backs are pinging 60 yards crossfield balls to feet

 

There does need to be some perspective on here as well. You only have to look at Brentford v Chelsea last night, last 20 minutes Brentford should have won absolutely dominated a supposedly far superior Chelsea team. So it happens to the best never mind shit teams like us. We can all say we should have done this or that, but our biggest crime was not having a 2 or more goal cushion when their time on top came. The two Cook(e)’s had a two on one situation to make it 3-1 and Andy totally bottled it not to mention the lack of quality first half in the final third, if we are going to have any chance of going up the players themselves have to do much better, not just rely on the manager bringing another defender or crap striker on.

 

Newcastle will probably snap up all three in January.

 

Carl Shutt and Tony Clegg have signed on non contract terms to cover. Ha Ha

 

Kane has been dreadful for a while tbh.

 

If we had two to take some weight off Cook.I think I’ve said it before when Angol comes back, it’s him and Vernham for me . Gilly drop to the bench.
