Saves me summarising.

 

Agree the two subs we made were Scales and Foulds, and look at the remaining options on the bench… Should have been out of site really though only ourselves to blame, we were hanging on at the end but shouldn’t have needed to be.

 

They were desperate and throwing balls into an area where we know Brett Pitman is dangerous so the question has to be with a couple of minutes left on the clock why didn't we stop the cross.
Fair do to Barton he made a good change at half time bringing the lad Thomas on for Hoole and from his first touch we struggled to contain the lad, but once again when we have the chances we had and only score 1 in the first half and dominate teams they realise they have nothing to lose throwing men forward, very disappointing result.

 

Well that’s two points dropped to by far the worst team we have played this season. Two attempts two goals. Adams doesn’t know what his best team is!!!!

I'm not going to criticise the work rate today. We pressing hard through the second-half, even ten fifteen yards into the Bristol half, but that is tough to sustain throughout.

Levi Sutton also seemed to be creeping forward as the game progressed, which started to leave a bit of space behind him. Get a third goal from this and we would be having a different discussion now, but we didn't.

I hope we try and freshen the side up a bit for Tuesday. That was a tired side by the end of the game.

 

Felt like a loss did that. Poor recruitment left us with no quality to come off the bench today. You can see why Adams is reluctant to use subs.

Contrast that to Barton been able to bring on Barnsley loanee Luke Thomas at half time who made such a difference. Thomas and Whelan dominated midfield in that 2nd half and they deserved their point.

All that said, we should have been out of sight at half time, very good first half performance but some more woeful finishing

Does anyone have a view on the goal disallowed for Cook being offside? I couldn't see anything wrong with it, but it happened very quickly and there was a jumble of players all next to each other.

 

Eisa injured again, Ridehalgh with what looks like a muscle injury and the team blowing out their arse halfway into the second half again. The sports science department needs a serious revamp.

When the ball, goes wide why didn't Foulds attack the man with the ball instead he lets Evans put that cross in, having said that it was piss poor defending by Songo.

 

Is that what Adams has said in his post match interview ?.

 

Cook was knackered and wasnt the only one but the problem is Robinson doesn’t defend and has cost us goals already switching off at corners. Salford away springs immediately to mind. So don’t think Adams trusts him enough to bring him on to see a game out.

Didn't even really need "decent" ones. Just some fresh legs to keep the ball up the pitch. We didn't need a goal threat really. Just better ball retention to alleviate the pressure at times.

 

Cook missed a great chance early. Then we had the mad scramble in the box that looked like a handball. Vernam missed a glancing header to the left and there was also a glanced header from someone to the right. That was all first half.

second half we had ball in net from Paudie when offside but didn’t quite create as much. We seemed happier to sit back. But those chances on edge of six yard box all needed converting. At this level i guess we won’t convert every one, but we should have been at least 2-0 up by ht

 

Recruitment will lose us more games this season, as it stands, as long as we can keep within a few points of the playoffs and we buy a couple of players in January we will be in with a shout come the end of the season. A good run will also help. Still a long way to go yet.

 

That was incredibly frustrating. If we knew what to do in the final quarter of the pitch we'd have hit them for 6, possibly by half time.

What I personally found the most 'bittersweet' if you will, is that once they first equalised we instantly upped the tempo and pressed and attacked and immediately went ahead. Then we sat back again. If we carried on with the mentality that we are level per-say we could have possibly gone further and further clear. I'm not a football manager, obviously, but they were my initial thoughts. They were shite and we allowed them to get in the game.
