That was epic and just goes to show , it is never over until the whistle blows in the 100th minute of the last match.
Although i did think we had no chance.

    Spot on!
I am really annoyed about this. How come a football team like Salford can gain extra funds with the wealth they have access to? Which is basically a stadium they bought from Ikea and dropped in a field near Manchester and called itself a football club and is run by billionaires. We have had some very hard times financially and nearly went out of business twice. Not sure the EFL were tripping over themselves to help us out.

Yeah but you put plans into place.

It's pretty simple, these are the scenarios.

Stockport - Will bring a full allocation - May require movement in the stadium
Northampton - Will possibly bring a full allocation but probably closer to 1,500 - Could fit them all in Midland Road with a slight movement on the current split.
Carlisle - Will bring a full allocation - May require movement in the stadium
Mansfield - Will bring a full allocation - May require movement in the stadium
Salford - Will bring a skateboard and we can sit them anywhere which has 5 seats together.

Thats kind of the trouble shooting you do in anticipation.

You didn’t answer my question. Would you be complaining if we were playing Wednesday or Derby in the play offs?

or return the money we get from when other clubs are in the play offs? Which we haven’t contributed to for the past six years.

I am 99% sure that the Play Off’s are not on i-follow? So the potential of say 5,000 paying to watch the second leg @ £10 a go will be lost. I assume the Sky deal will be reasonable, but will be split 50/50?

Carlisle announced within hours how many tickets we had given them so I'm presuming we had decided everything before hand and told all clubs involved and vice versa otherwise not sure how they could confidently have tickets on sale at lunch time Tuesday

We had sold 14k earlier, not sure if that included the 2k from Carlisle. However if it doesn't there can't be too many more season ticket holders who haven't purchased tickets and if there are, they are possibly waiting to book tickets with no season ticket holders so I guess we will see another surge in sales. I think 20k is where we will end up.

To add then, do you think we should close the ground then? Reduce the capacity so we take more money back.. if not what is your point? That we are too big for this league?

It's right that the play-,off money is pooled. Clubs shouldn't be able to benefit financially by finishing 7th, as opposed to 3rd.

My point has been it doesn't benefit us in any way to have more than 2,000 Carlisle fans in the ground unless we had come to an agreement where they would forego the 10% requirement when we played them. If we got 2,400 in return then I am all for it.

Again you haven't answered my question. You know it puts you in a sticky situation.

I will assume the answer is no you wouldn’t be bothered even though we would be the salford in that situation. So just whinging for the sake of it.

A massive difference to what I was proposing, done right it would not be implying we were on our way unlike the Blackpool program, but giving fans pre-notice of what might be implemented, a great night in Blackpool in the Manchester pre-game never thinking we could pull a 2 goal deficit around never mind a 3 - 0 win on the night within the 90 minutes, what a night upload_2023-5-10_16-47-13.jpeg

It does benefit us to have more. Its not a lot but its still something. Better than just being petty and giving them the bare minimum sat next to empty seats.

to be honest for us to lower our away allocation in a play off game does smell a bit. I know fully well if we had Doncaster but only gave us 2000 in a play off match we would be fuming.

I don't know much about what games iFollow can broadcast domestically.

Most of the Sky deal giving them the rights to broadcast the play-offs and the final is part of the overall Sky TV contract with the EFL and we'll simply receive our share of that. There might be a separate but small payment for being one of the televised games but it won't be much if anything.

Bit more digging, both the 3% and the further 50% goes into the same account and it is basically the money that the league use for everything eg day to day costs, prize money etc. Looks like all income for the league ends up in there.

We also have to pay the 3% on all ticket sales for all matches, and season tickets etc
