Unbelievably we weren’t moved on from row A. So good result all round!

 

Queue's were longer than usual, but only by about 10 mins or so.

Seems like majority of people got to the ground earlier anyway so not too many issues with regards to getting in late from what I could see.

 

I got to the main stand at 6.45 and there was no queue at all. Just walked straight up to the turnstile and in. Very surprising, given the crowd size.

 

I have been quick to praise the club for its off the field progress in recent times. But my goodness this was the mother of all mess ups.
Let’s hope lessons have been learned

 

I got there at 6.15, the kop turnstiles by the ticket office were busy but the ones by the bantams bar were pretty much empty. Walked straight up and straight in. No queue whatsoever.

 

We were at the turnstiles early and the QR codes were rejected so we had to go to the ticket office to get a ticket

So overall, the chaos of moving seats, buying, and then cancelling and new QR codes wasn’t as bad as feared?

 

So I printed off the tickets (swapped back ones I hasten to add!!) from the email that I got earlier in the week and had screenshots of them as well. Same email, same tickets but completely different QR codes when looked at!!!! Then got an email @ 4.30 with the cancelled tickets....

Got inside the ground just before 6.00 with the screenshots....then saw the email with reissued tickets...different QR codes again...

FFS we don't make it easy for ourselves do we....

 

I think 6 seats missing. A guy was having a right go at a steward and City staff.

 

Marco said to me during the week they had audited all the seats to make sure each one was on the system just once and was there.

That often happens when you print off a QR code. Almost always happens to me with tickets bought on the Trainline, so I keep the e-mail open as back up and it always works when the printed ticket doesn't. It must be something in the printing process that corrupts the QR code (or at least with my printer)

 

It was happening with everyone until the steward came round to tell the operators more or less to put them through

 

Myself and daughter arrived about half six, straight through turnstile in Midland Rd, pretty certain the turnstile guys scanner did not register our tickets.
Just waved us through.

 

There were quite a few wandering about lower kop near to me looking for their seats and blocking aisles a good 15 minutes after match had started. I think a few had sat in wrong seats too.

To be fair to the occasional fan, the seat numbers are not very visible now on a lot of them

 

I know somebody, a Midland Road exile, who couldn't get in with his newly emailed QR code, but his screenshot of the original allowed him in. Only to find that his purchased seat had been sold twice! A seat was found eventually.

 

Sat in block F and the seat numbers were all over the place. I think maybe broken seats by away fans had been replaced from old ones removed from other parts of the ground.

 

bloke on our aisle claimed he was on the right aisle until he finally got his ticket out and it turned out he was 26 rows out, his ticket was AA he was sat on A
