There seems to be quite a bit of an I'm alright Jack vibe going on from some of those who don't sit in the Midland Road about us being required to move and that we should just suck it up. Some views on that.
    1. The club did not have to do this. The rules don't make them and there is no financial benefit in doing so. Why?
    2. Part of the match day experience is sitting near to those who you know, sometimes for many years - 28 years in our case. Now not possible for a key game.
    3. On previous occasions when Midland Road has been required to move, all seats could be bought. This time the only seats available are those normally for away fans or non season ticket holders. We have bought in the NWC which was the only area I could find giving a view approximating the one we have in A block.
And you wonder why we are feeling a bit pissed off??

To add insult to injury I've just had a Carlisle fan ask me on Twitter what the view is like from my seat. Cheeky git.

    Thanks for the Twitter content.

Mmm. It appears from the Head of Ticketing that we have chosen to accommodate 3,200 Carlisle supporters which incidentally is approx 700 more than is usually provided for an EFL game and significantly more than the 2,000 required under the EFL regs. That's very good on our part to provide more space for opposition fans than is required!

The consequence of that decision by somebody at our club us to inconvenience every City supporter with a season ticket in the Midland Road stand and expect them to move and sit elsewhere to accommodate another 700 away fans. The fans loyalty over many years has simply been overridden for some unexplained reason. Groups of fans may not be able to sit together for the final match at VP. Friendships which have developed over many years are ignored and moving to the upper tier of the Sunwin where many fans refuse to sit may be the only option. Of course, some could move to the TL Dallas where the facilities are sadly lacking. And all because somebody at the club fails has failed to understand the implications for existing fans of providing extra accommodation for away supporters.

I hope that rather than slap each other on the back for the good job they've done to accommodate extra Carlisle fans, they now explain to 3,000 fans in the MR why they are to be inconconvenienced on this final important game when it could all have been so easily avoided.

    A simple sentence like
“Season ticket holders will have until 6pm on Wednesday to reserve their usual seat”

Fans evicted from MR should have been given a period of exclusivity to secure other seats before they went on sale to everyone.

if I can think of these solutions in a matter of minutes then wtf do the staff who work at the club actually think about when they come up with these ridiculous ticketing plans.

I got back from yesterday's match just in time to see that the home leg tickets had gone on sale. When I saw my seat was unavailable, I just purchased the nearest one available. Personally, I'm happy to stick with what I've got.

Regarding the Midland Road changes, this is not a cup match, it comes under the EFL's league match regulations. The only circumstances that these changes should have been made are if it is under Police 'direction'.

If the Club have messed up they need to own the mistake, if it's a Police 'direction' then tell us.

Either way, the Club should have, by now, clarified the reasoning for these changes

You sound like that 30p Lee idiot. Refusing to acknowledge there's been a feck up and just responding with some idiotic remark like 'If you don't like it here, go live somewhere else'.

    Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I've signed up as I felt I needed to get involved and have my say on the absolute shambles that's taken place over the Carlisle Home tickets. I've been in email comms with Marco (1 email) and Ryan (2 emails) and I'll give the highlights below, then with my opinion after. Most of the responses I've had are word-for-word the same as some quoted previously in this thread, but I have got a little bit of further info. I don't want to be drawn into a discussion and envisage this is my only post; I just want to set the stall out as I see it.

    Ryan's points
    - In his first email Ryan said that they want to have home fans behind both goals
    - And that under EFL Rules they have to give a 10% away allocation
    - The only way to do that would be to give Carlisle 4 blocks in Midland Road (MR), which gives Carlisle the 2,460 seats they're entitled to
    - In his second email, Ryan says that Carlisle have provided us with above 10% of their stadium's capacity, so City agreed to do the same for them on a reciprocal basis
    - Ryan has only had 6 emails relating to the MR stand and the ticket office "have had some contact too"

    My opinion
    - City have mis-read the rules, or have been hood-winked by Carlisle. Either way, there was no need to give Carlisle 10% of the capacity. We only had to give them 2,000, however Carlisle HAVE to give us 10% of their capacity (about 1700 seats).
    - City have therefore given Carlisle an extra 400 seats which they didn't need to do and kicked out their own season ticket holders in order to facilitate this (without apologising or explaining to those fans)
    - City wanted fans behind both goals. This I have no problem with, but all seats in the stadium should then have been on a first-come-first-served basis, as has happened before - so not just MR fans are in the TL Dallas Stand (which would have been the original idea)
    - City have not acknowledged that kicking out everyone from MR and making them choose the seats in the stadium that no-one wants isn't treating the fans fairly, or with any respect
    - City think that the selling of the tickets has actually gone very well, as they've only had a few emails and few queries at the ticket office.

    In Summary
City have messed up and don't have the balls to admit it. Some people in City are far away from what's happening on the ground that they don't realise the anger over the ticketing arrangements and poor comms from the club.

I have suggested to Ryan and Marco that an apology piece would be worth doing, but I honestly think that they don't think one is needed as, in their eyes, everything has basically gone smoothly.

The next time a Fan Engagement Survey comes out, I'd like to think all fans affected by this absolute shambles will give their appropriate feedback.

    Thanks for reading.

Yes, it's quite simple. Our group have been sitting together for more than 12 years. We now have to buy alternative tickets in areas of the ground where there are no blocks of seats left or are in areas where other fans have chosen not to buy STs because of their location. This will be the case for many of the other 3,000 plus ST holders in the MR stand who will be looking at the unoccupied seats elsewhere in the ground.

This is a major faux pas on behalf of the club. All they had to do was allow ALL ST holders to buy their existing seats and house the Carlisle fans in the area in the MR and the TL Dallas stands which are usually reserved for away fans.

And that is before the club considers how fan segregation will operate after the game ends.

All that was needed was this.
Give Carlisle the same availability as Orient today. Open the lower tier of the T S Dallas if necessary.
Season ticket holders have until 6pm on Wednesday to buy their normal seat.
After that all remaining seats are on general sale.
    What could be simpler?

I cant believe as a club this scenario was not sorted before the game we get the result and the club put out the details of how you can purchase your usual seat, I do feel for you guys in the Midland Road short straw again.

For what it is worth, I am a Midland Roader and have been for many seasons (E block). Moving seats for cup games and play-off games is IN MY PERSONAL OPINION a refreshing change and doesn't bother me in the slightest, although I do fully understand why some may not want to. What I do object to, however, is the fact that it was so bloody difficult finding 2 seats together in the main stand or kop. There's no way I am gonna sit right at the back of the top tier of either stand, fortunately I got 2 in the lower kop D block. I honestly cannot be bothered, nor do I have the time, to bash down the door of the ticket office and request these be changed, we didn't get bad seats in the end so it is what it is. To reflect what most other fans have said, moving from MR is not an issue, but don't then restrict all the ST seats in the other stands. All this has done is create confusion and panic. As I was booking my tickets at 8pm last night, I even said out loud "how the hell can it be all sold out in such a short time" as the club had not made it clear that ST tickets would be reserved in the main stand and kop (and before anyone has a go, I don't live on social media for constant updates). Therefore I , and many others, were panic buying whatever was available though the fear it had almost sold out. No fan wants FOMO and will do whatever necessary to secure the tickets

Marco seems like yet another tit whom we have employed, who can't wait to take praise for doing his JOB just for some likes on Twitter but soon as the shit hits the fan he goes hiding - just like Sparks did on several occasions

Indeed. But there was never a need to evict anyone from the Midland Road. City could meet their obligations to Carlisle to provide 2,000 tickets using the existing arrangements. It makes no sense whatsoever.

They really have made an absolute shitshow of this and it really didn't need to happen. If they were going to do this, which in course they have, it should have been communicated correctly and in good time to fans, especially ones in seats that were going to be affected. Saying they went along with fans views for fans in the Bradford end doesn't seem to take into account the couple of thousand fans in the midland road. I thought we'd moved away from this sort of thing but we still have the ability to piss our own fans off.

Not only do they think they've done nowt wrong, they are also crowing about how well it's gone. It's that sort of arrogance and complete lack of empathy with the fans affected that gets me. I'm not affected at all and got my seat without any bother but friends in the Midland Road have been and they're livid. And nothing will convince me that 'the fans at both ends' argument is anything other than a desperate afterthought when they realised they had to find some excuse for misunderstanding the regulations.

Not sure. Maybe its not suitabl
I get a little uneasy when the '56' are mentioned in any breath but especially if trying to prove a point. It's like saying 'how dare you complain about not having your normal seat, 56 people would love to be sat in your seat'. It's a crass way of putting someone down whose problem might seem petty to some but to them has caused them a headache

They are more than a number. There was 56 individual ppl who died on that terrible day. Like you @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart i don’t like them being spoken of as an entity, or any commercialisation, or as you say used to make a point. We carry them with us silently as fans everywhere we go, and that terrible day will never be forgotten.
