And I can't imagine the Carlisle offer will match the Barnsley offer (was it about 500k in the summer that they bid or 500k was our asking price?) Which we rejected?

If he does sign for you and you get the Harry Lewis we saw for most of last season then you'd be signing a hell of a player. That said, this season has been littered with bad errors of judgement where it seemed almost a mental block rather than lack of ability. I'd be sad to see the lad go, he's a really decent bloke on and off the field but there's always that nagging doubt that possibly last season may have been a purple patch. He certainly has the ability.

 

You will be getting a very good keeper who has slightly lost his way this season. For whatever reason

They're all 'we need to sell to balance the books', which is the complete opposite of what we've been told by Sparks.

In theory we have no reason to sell anyone, or to be a selling club, unless the players request a move I suppose.

Will be interesting to see how Ryan backtracks on all his comments.

Imagine selling Lewis and Young to pay off Hughes or whatever.

Personally not really bothered if Lewis goes as some have said,he's been average this season. Probably more controversial I feel the same with Young. Thought he was average when initially with us, but had a purple patch at Swindon. Doesn't necessarily mean he could replicate his scoring feat here....

 

We will most likely bring in a couple of loans to see us over and ‘go for it’ next season. Then if there’s a drop in season ticket sales between that and Hughes will be a nice excuse not to spend a penny of it. I’ll never be happy to see a talent go, but some treat a transfer like the money is going into their pockets. It’s not it’s going into a millionaire’s pocket.

 

He sounds a bit like our ex number one 'Holy'. Undoubtedly a decent keeper, however a lack of confidence and some (very) costly mistakes, has really put a nail in his coffin.

I'm not too bothered about this one, but you could argue that we now need two goalkeepers in January. It is an absolute joke of a situation.

 

Well, it’s come a bit out of the blue, but basically if he wants to leave, may as well cash in. Shame, but we are where we are. If Young goes as well, surely he will, there are going to be a lot of angry people if squad isn’t improved this window.

I think we need to see who we bring in to replace him. We might find ourselves with a better keeper with a bit of luck. Reserve the meltdown until we’ve at least seen who’s coming in. I can’t imagine this has happened overnight and I doubt Alexander would’ve sanctioned the move if he wasn’t confident of getting someone of equal ability or better.

 

Well put it this way round - if both players are sold and we dilly dally for replacements like we always have done, and end up getting bummed at Colchester and Swindon, I for one will be calling time on my attendances, and I certainly won’t be on my own in doing so. Never thought I’d be saying this, but something has got to give. We are in a very sad state of affairs lately

Just another symptom of how poorly run we are.

 

Why would we need 2 goalkeepers? Doyle is more than good enough as a back up and I can't see us getting in anyone much better than him who is prepared to sit on the bench.
