I'm as staunch a monarchist as they come, but those two just annoy me no end.

Social-climbing C-list (and that's being kind) actress fulfills a fairy-tale fantasy by snagging a Prince, admittedly a B-list Prince, but nevertheless from the A-est of A-list royalty. At this point, the successful vertical climber would make sure she learns just what goes with the man she's marrying, i.e. the position, and then lives up to it. The gravy train was there, waiting; wealth, standing, and public acclaim to be had for fulfilling some royalish duties, opening the odd fete or two, setting up a charity or working with Harry in his, finding a niche such as Charles has done with the organic farming... Instead, the true C-list nature comes to the fore, the climb stalls, and it's everybody's fault but the climber's.

Or, outsider marries into established family, without finding out all that that means, expects that the established family will change to meet the outsider rather than the other way round, and gets into a strop when they don't.

Either way, the Prince in his own country becomes more-or-less a nobody in someone else's. And so many bridges have been burnt that if it all ends in tears, it might be too difficult to get back home again.

I don't really give a shit either way, I haven't watched the interview and I won't be doing.

I was a bit fed up watching a Covid press conference to have the media popping in with questions about the talk show that were totally irrelevant to Covid which reminded me why the press conferences were stopped in the first place.

I suppose one bonus is that rent a gob Piers Morgan is no longer on the TV. He has taken being turned down by Meghan rather personal.

Still one person loving all this will be Prince Andrew, talk of him being a nonce is now totally overshadowed.

And she was in the running for the role of Edie Doyle too. Eve-Marie Saint was so good in that though that it's hard to imagine anyone else playing Edie.
