Most in the North of England couldn't care less about any of them but now Harry and his Missus have effectively handed back their meal ticket now they realise they can do a Blair and make their fortune on the celebrity circuit.
    The Daily mail and the BBC royal correspondants will be seething which is always good to see.

    For a couple that wants to leave the Royal set they don't half dine out on the benefits that it gives them. Lets face it, without that stupid Royal tag what are they? An attractive middle aged lady and a balding ginger lad that used to single handelly take on the taliban if you believed the Daily hate Mail. I guess its the strange celebrity obssessed world we live in today . Personally couldn't give a fook about any of them, they've done knack all for me or any of my family.

    I think we have the same attitude but on the flip side I don't care about what the royal family do but I appreciate that they are actually an asset. My guess is they contribute a lot to tourism and albeit it was Trump, it showed that important international diplomats want to meet them.

    As asset to who? Princess Di walking through a minefield with a crash helmet on didn't really benefit me in any way. My life wouldn't be any different if we didn't have a royal family.

    I did say that I think they offer a lot to tourism in the UK and they are of interest to other diplomats. While it changes nothing for the likes of me and you I recognise they do have a positive impact.

    I don't really think Princess Do walked through a minefield for your benefit, mate. I mean I shouldn't imagine in your day to day life you go anywhere near any minefields, not unless you count this forum.

    She didn't walk through a minefield, it was staged. Don't rally think they were gonna risk of the most famous women in the women being turned into minced beef.

    Even if it was staged she was doing it to garnish awareness about an issue that was relevant to lots people around the world but maybe not you.

    You're correct in that it wasn't relevant to me, just like the royal family aren't relevant to me. My family background is working class Northern England and Irish immigrants i can guarantee you the royal family have never given two shits about me or my family. I just repay the favour.

    The bit I find quit amusing is they said one of the reasons they wanted out was with regards lack of privacy, news media always in their faces the paparazzi constantly pestering them, yet they are going to give an interview to Oprah Winfrey.

    I once had to help arrange a royal visit (Liz & Phil).

    That put me on the list to meet them, an offer I politely declined.
