From the images I've seen Oprah does look like Ian Wright in drag. Nothing racist or bigoted about it at all in my opinion.

Here's a photo of Oprah from the interview.

Just to balance that the Pigeon Lady in Home Alone 2 looks like Steve Bruce.

"We want privacy" follwed by an interview with arguably the worlds biggest TV host is dripping in hypocrisy. My views on the royals are well known but i think the Harry and Meghan PR machine has badly underestimated what a lot of the country still feels toward the Queen in particular. She was absolutely nothing before she used the Royal gravy train for her own benefit and now milking every last drop out of it. At least it gives the media and Morgan a day off from jerking off over Covid figures.

Do you know what I can't understand about all this is why anyone actually gives a flying fook?

It's another celebrity couple, like Kim and Kanye or Posh and Becks. They don't affect me or my life so they can do whatever they want as far as I'm concerned just don't make such a big deal about it all.

What do we see in the next episode? Harry officially apologises for killing people in an illegal war started by Blair and Bush? My Uncle Andrew and his sex pest friends? How my mum was killed by secret services? A highlight reel of Meghans greatest acting roles including yesterdays interview.
Theres a couple of netflix series in this for the entrepenuerial couple. Meghan eventually gets the film roles she wants inclding playing the role of Oprah in a life story and Harry becomes president. Compelling viewing.

I didnt watch the interview but caught the some of the regurgitated comments with regards someone asking about the shade of the childs colour etc. There was a royal correspondent replying to the interview which was actually 3 hours cut to an hour.
She said the interview was unbalanced and asked no questions of Meghan with regards he situation with her family, fallen out with everyone except her mother who was the only person in attendance at the wedding.
@Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart sums it all up here https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/harry-and-megan-and-the-dysfunctional-royal-family.4750/page-5#post-473888
Apparently the interview got a similar viewing audience as the super bowl.

They got paid no matter what they claim. There is a trick they all do to make it look like they aren't profiting from interviews like this and that's money doesn't come to them directly but a charitable donation is made to the foundation/charity that almost every single celeb has which they can then use in a virtue-signalling exercise that grabs them more attention and results in more income. Ashwell's bank account is almost certainly several million higher than it was

Harry has just been brainwashed by her, she wants to be there as its best for her career not for their privacy but he seems to have bought into her myth of how protected Hollywood is (Which she has no basis for knowing, when she was in LA she was a failed actress who struggled to get non-speaking parts to let alone major roles where people would know who and care who she was. Her success was in Canada and they don't hound the TV stars up there which is one of the reasons so many shows shoot up there rather than in other states in the US outside California and New York who offer just as big if not bigger incentives to shoot in there)

He has been lucky that he is in LA during a lockdown but once things are back to normal he will quickly find out the press in the US are a million times worse. The agreement the palace and the press have which he acting as if no-one knew about it (The press mention it enough and the fact we see none of the daily Paparazzi shots of the Royals, especially the kids that are in the foreign press and we hear none of the unsubstantiated rumours such as the one about Williams Affair that was all over the US press) gives the Royals a massive amount of protection in the UK which he doesn't have over there. He will have a swarm of paps following him if he goes to get a coffee, they will chase him in cars/bikes when he goes anywhere and they won't have any issue breaking into his property. And with US liable laws which mean he would have to prove that any story is not only false but the publication knew it was wrong when they printed it (unlike in the UK where the publication has the burden to prove the story is true) he will see all sorts of crazy stories about him (It already happens, I don't know if anyone noticed but when they put up examples of the negative and racist headlines most of them weren't from UK publications, most were from US papers and gossip mags

Only if you use the same kind of multiplying that Oprah used about the Royal Wedding (as she claimed 2bn people watched it which is clearly bullshit) or they use Netflix method of viewing figures of which is 'did you watch 2minutes of the content, including what is effectively the autoplaying promo'. About 17million watched it by the official Nielsen ratings (which counts a view as watching 70% of the content) whereas 96.4mill watched this year Superbowl. It's not even CBS's most viewed non-sporting event of 2021 as The Equaliser remake got over 20mill watching the first episode.

On the interview itself there were so many provably false things in it that every single claim she made is doubtful. Knowing that the palace most likely won't actually do a proper response (she basically stated that right at the side when complaining that they wouldn't let her put out anything but no-comment responses) Oprah as an interview had a duty to actually treat everything she said with scepticism and to hence cross her but Oprah is a fraud who has made her money on giving people puff pieces. Holly Willoughby puts guests on This Morning under more scrutiny that Oprah ever does which is saying something as Holly isn't a journalist and doesn't pretend to be one.

Oh and you know what annoyed me the most about the interview. Her responce to the Avocado article.

Serious journalism in Newspapers is a dying art form, over in the States one of the most respected papers is the Washington Post which has always prided itself doing proper hard-hitting journalism but that makes massive losses every year, it's only because it's owned by Jeff Bezos who is willing and able to shoulder losses to keep it doing what its always done. Most papers can't afford to do that, serious journalism just takes too long, costs too much and gets too few eyes in today's celeb obsessed society. So a common tactic, when they want to do a serious story, is to find a way to frame it around a celeb which allows you to include them in the headline and in the first paragraph or so before delving into the serious story.

This Avocado story was about the plight the sudden Avocado craze which has been fueled by celebs and social media influencers was causing in the countries they are grown in, you have things like criminal gangs have now got involved so they make money not the growers and also people who it used to be a vital part of their diet as it was nutritious and cheap now can't afford it as the demand is so high that prices have gone through the roof. It's a real issue, one that all these millennials eating tonnes of it but who claim to care more about society than before them needed to be aware of, it needed a celebs name in the headline to get people to read it though and as someone who was still popular at the time and someone who like a week before had a friend over and served him Avocado on Toast which he had Instagrammed about and the post had blown up she was the perfect person. It didn't attack her, it didn't blame her for anything it just used the fact she had recently blown up over avocado and had also previously said it was her favourite food

But here on this interview, we had Little Miss caring shitting all over the article, effectively calling a respected journalist racist and showing absolutely no concern for others plights. She should have been applauding a good piece of journalism that shone a light on the issues but because it dared use her to get people to read it she decided to ridicule it. I guess we should have expected it though from such a fake, self obsessed women after all she has been happy telling us all that we should live like cavemen and then a few days later taking a private plane to go and spend a weekend with the Clooneys or to fly to new york for a baby shower and then fly back or the various other unnecessary plane trips she took for recreational reasons (and often her taking one flight and Harry taking a different one to goto the same place)

The word racism kills debate stone dead. Its like the terminator, it can't be argued with, it can't be reasoned with. Its like playing your joker card. Only today i saw a comment from a Z list celebrity sister of a rubgy league player that the UK was a collectively racist country and it made her sick. Every post in the comment section agreed with her. Her comments are vile and very dangerous and social media is a huge part of the problem.
I've lived most of my life in an apparent melting pot of diversity that is Bradford. I was brought up around what are now predominantly asian areas. Without outside influences such agenda driven media or right wing groups like the EDL inviting themselves into Bradford it generally just gets on with life as a City. I'll be honest with you, it might not be a popular opinion but when i see stuff based around race on TV or the media i switch off. Because its an argument that will never be won. The lack of intelligence on both sides of the arguement make sure harmony will never happen. Because its all about divide and conquer, and the prize always comes in riches.

It doesn't help that it seems the woke generation are thick as shit about anything other than being woke. It was like during the heat of the Black Lives Matter protests where you saw them all blaming Britain for 'Black Peoples lives being shit' when if they half a brain cell and spent just a short period of time researching they would know they have Britain to thank for not still being slaves. Shouting racism and accusing the country to have deep-seated racism is easier than engaging their brain sadly.

For anyone who doesn't know as for some reason we don't talk about it enough Slavery was outlawed in England in the 9th Century by William the Conqueror. So for a long time, the only people who might have had slaves in Britain were foreigners who brought their slaves over with them when coming to England. That ended up getting outlawed as well with a law passed that meant any Slave who stepped foot in England was instantly granted Freedom. This is all during a time where slavery was the norm through almost all the rest of the world, especially in Africa. When European traders landed in Africa looking to trade for precious metals and gems they found these large slave markets and started trading items for slaves to take to the New World. Now our hands aren't clean here, British trading companies were part of this and they went to British colonies BUT what seems to be ignored is while the likes of Portugal and France were involved at a country level shipping slaves both into their country and also to their colonies all ours was done by Private companies. The British people hated what was going on to a point where the Royal Navy was sent to Blockade Africa and treat all Slave ships (including those flying the Union Jack) as Pirate ships. It started as just a few ships as we were in the middle of a war but we ended up with a massive force out there stopping a large number of ships to a point that we forced Portugal to agree to stop trading slaves (They initially broke that agreement until we then committed more ships to blockade Brazil). We then slowly one by one got nations to agree to end the trade. Then the next step was to start working on banning the practise of slavery completely. We banned it in the British Empire bringing the colonies inline with the rest of Britain despite these colonies having strong opposition to it, this even included us taking on massive debt to buy their freedom (which we only finished paying back in 2015) and then started pressing other countries to follow our lead. Without the British people being so against slavery there is a decent chance Slavery would still be a common thing across the world, not just something that is either underground or in the Middle East.

Now that isn't saying racism doesn't exist, human nature makes us scared of what is different and we can always do better but this narrative being pushed that we are one of the most racist countries in the world and are responsible for all their hardships is just so wrong. The belief that everyone deserves basic human rights no matter skin colour is deep-rooted in us more so than people of most other countries and as a country, we did more to help minorities get their freedom and be treated better than anyone, you could even make an argument we did more to aid the civil rights movement than the individuals who are held up as architects of it
