And yet that was one of the biggest criticisms to be held against him last time, Mccall himself used to worry too much about the opposition.

One example was it plymouth at home once, when we were really poor. He said he hadnt bothered with a winger as they had two big centre halves who would have cleared the crosses anyway.

To be fair, concerns about Millwall and Sheffield United in particular are hardly naive.

 

Stuart had the team playing well all season perhaps understandably he was scared of Uniteds very good forward line and changed the way we played. As for Millwall in the final this was a match we could and should have won. Again he changed the system to try and hold Morrison and Gregory. However it’s good experience which he can call on in the future

We could and should have beaten Millwall, full stop.

 

He'd played that system for a few matches before Wembley I believe, with Wyke up top and Clarke playing off him, but yes most thought he showed Millwall to much respect on the day, hopefully another lesson hes learnt, at the present moment I'll take a Wembley play off final.

Hearing him talk yesterday i think he's learnt that lesson. That match will hurt him like it does us all hence why he was talking about it yesterday.

Think it was Sheff Utd at home he showed too much respect for also.

Don't think he will be scared of Oldham or Mansfield and that's certainly not the case with what he was saying yesterday.

 

The Sheff Utd game was away and we got a good hiding. The home game was the best game I've seen at League 1 level. Two top draw teams playing expansive football doing everything they could to win.

 

Might of been Sheff Utd away then mate.

 

It really was a superb match. It finished 3-3. Shipley Bantams sponsored the match and we gave man of the match to Timothy Dieng who scored a cracking goal.
We lost the away match 3-0. We played a diamond that day and it just didn't work.

 

Billy Sharp x2 and Basham the scorers both now playing Premier League football week in week out. Billy Sharp still the best striker I've seen live in front of me. His movement and cleverness in the box is top draw. His goal record speaks for itself. How different things could've been.

 

433 Saturday I reckon. Either AoC or Reeves in the holding role.
