I would play him on the left he’s one of the best crossers at the club

    Stuart....

“I look at the squad and there's six wingers, a lot of similarity in the midfield players, a few number 10s, some strikers, defensive-wise we're okay, although Kelvin (Mellor) is out injured at the moment. It is a big squad.

Wow... Its taken him like five minutes.

Wishing you all a great match day experience today!

I actually looked into flights, such is my desire to feel the atmosphere today! Sadly, nothing viable. Would love to start lunchtime in the Corn Dolly for a few pre match ales, before getting that buzz heading to the ground. Stuart has got a lot of pressure on him to get the team winning again, but one thing that can’t be faulted is the excitement he’s generated about his return. Can’t remember the last time I was looking forward to a match as much. Kids have been instructed that the TV is mine from 4pm onwards, and the Mrs has been given a free pass to go out to dinner with her friends :)

Here’s hoping that come full time, all the hype has been justified!

I think you'd struggle to se a worse first touch than Connolly's today. To be fair is usually poor but today was awful. Full back had every time.

People were saying sign Connolly up - No, no, no he lacks quality and end product. He's not good enough and I don't think McCall was too impressed with him.

100% better performance than the dross served up under our departed manager.

Thought Dylan M-H looked pretty good when he came on. Nice surprise after I'd been really underwhelmed by his signing.

Think we need something different from Connolly. Running fast and geeing up the crowd at corners isn't enough. He works hard but has little end product

Connelly was so frustrating. Once he had beaten their excellent full back, he couldn't beat the man in front of him with a cross. I'd be tempted to start with DMH on Tuesday, who looks just as quick, and put two successful crosses in his short cameo, to Connellys zero.

That's over simplifying. We had 14 shots to their 9. 9 corners to their 1.

More crosses, corners and shots on goal than they did. The fact they had more of the ball doesn't directly mean they controlled the game. First half especially, the game was played largely in their half.

All in all, we looked more threatening than they did, but there wasnt much in it and a draw was a fair result.

Our biggest problem though, was our finishing. 1 shot on target out of 14 is very, very poor.

Lots to work on. And many changes to the squad are needed. But there was at least evidence of something being coached. A sensible game plan.

Nonsense. First time around, most fans supported the need for a change. Second time round, most fans saw the reality of the conditions being imposed on him. Not all fans - some fans stubbornly refused to see any wrongdoing in how the club was being run.
This time around, he'll be judged on what he delivers. Simple as that. And I think for the most part, judgement will be reserved until next season because the squad he's inherited has a number of problems and needs a window to start putting right.

The first half was a poor spectacle, the second half more enjoyable but still lacking in quality. None of this will be changed in a week, or a month, i'd expect nearer the end of the season when McCall works out a system to best suit the players currently at the club. I think the summer will see a big change around in personnel, only then will Stuart be able to impose his ideals on the team.

Creating a bond between players and fans is an asset. Tapping into that emotional thread can reap rewards. It's not enough on it's own, obviously, but it can have genuine value.

In that sense, it may be that Stuart will fare better here than elsewhere - sometimes clubs can just be the right 'fit' for managers and players.

Equally, having your players fully invested in your approach and willing to 'run through brick walls' is an asset too.

I think McCall is underestimated as a training ground coach. I think he's got talent in that sense. And I think he's a good judge of a player.

The biggest question mark over him is his tactical nous. And I'm minded that last time around, he wasnt exactly free to impose his own will. So I'm keen to see how he fares.

Don’t know tbh. I want to go to support the players, but I cannot support the manager, and this continuing silence from Rhodes and Rupp. Time for fans to show the board what we think.

Saturday is the only home game I will miss this season. I am off to London to attend a memorial get together for a former colleague. I am glad to go for several reasons but I never thought not seeing City would be one of them.

When Bantam Pete, Nick Kitchen and Ian Hemmens turn on you on Twitter that is curtains and the P45 can't be far behind. Think it's just @Park bantam@Park bantam and that Bantam Jo still playing the role of the Ostrich with their heads in the sand believing that we are going to turn into a fantastic team under Bowyer. I can only think they were the lucky (unlucky) ones who got a phone call from Bowyer preseason and feel he's now a pal and will back him until the ship has sank. It can only be a financial decision that we've not woke up to an announcement. Can't keep serving the fans that football and expect to keep your job. I think the empty stands will force their hands as the club needs ST sales and there's fans who have been going 20+ years who won't renew under Bowyer. When the 'Hardcore' decide not to renew this club will suffer major problems.
