Grayson gone

Maybe they are waiting to announce the next manager. If that takes a few days, then so be it.

If we haven't named a manager by the end of the week, then some kind of statement should be made.

 

I'm kind of hoping they haven't named a manager by the end of the week.. If so, I just feel it would have been a rushed appointment. Unless of course they had known this day was coming and had been planning for such a scenario

I did say he told the owners what they were offering was mid table.
it's mentioned in that article aswell.

I didn't want Grayson to stay, I don't want to watch us hoof the ball towards a Kai Bruncker who can't do anything with it when he gets it, or towards the corner in the hope we can gain some yards and maybe win a corner or a throw in but as some alluded to yesterday - it's what his departure means that is the real issue here and what we ought to be worried about.

 

Grayson’s impact was uninspiring and the football played boring but I don’t think that is the point. The bigger picture is that the owners offered him a 2 year deal. He was their choice. We were in the driving seat. For whatever reason he decided he did n’t want to be here. Ok go then... the training ground etc is all crap. It’s a weak excuse from the truth. He cited he wanted an opportunity where he could be successful. That is probably the truth. A manager who has proved he knows what it takes does n’t think we can do it on the course we are on. Let’s see if our owners really do know better.

 

Having read the T&A article and listened to his interview, the one thing I'm picking up is Mr Grayson isn't quite as confident in his own ability as he seems to portray. Really good manager's can work with what they have but he needs all his ducks in a row to make it work.

Good luck at Scunny mate, you'll especially need it in the period between January & March when they usually drop off the pace,

 

I don't see some people thinking he is the bees knees, a very arrogant/self confident man who needs to take a look in the mirror and realise he has been a failure at his last two clubs, do we really need people like that when we have enough egos in the club as it is?

 

Grayson knows there is a formula for promotion.

We don't have that formula.

Why waste time?

The idea that a good manager can get anyone promoted is silly and naive.

 

I'm sure I read somewhere that Parky never actually got as far as meeting the owners, he just did one as soon as Bolton waved a cheque book at him. To be fair to him, what could he have achieved by staying ? He realised he'd taken the club as far as he could and was ready for a new challenge.

 

They knew and they've probably known for weeks. Hindsight is wonderful, but has Grayson actually made any comment, anywhere in his short stay that gave any positive intent towards staying ? If he did I've missed it. To be fair to them , they've managed the official timing well by it not coming out beforehand, and I'm equally sure that Rupp is over here to interview new managers rather than strike a deal with Grayson.

 

Similar budget to this year but with more players under contract still so possibly less signings?

I really hope not.

The training ground thing was a massively unrealistic ask from Grayson though
