How many of those games were played
    1) with no full backs
    2) with no wingers
    3) short of central defenders
    4) with no proper goalie
    5) with superior january signings than our rivals

Jeez some people are gullible, believing a rumour on facebook. I'm assuming these people think the moon is made of cheese.

I really don't think you can say he's been poor until he's had the chance to bring in his own players.

Very few of those players would be ones he wants and the one that looked a real find in McGowan got injured after two games or whatever!

Judge him when he's had the chance to bring in his own players. If we're still poor after 6-8 games then it's a fair shout.

He already has. If you listened to his interview on Saturday, he makes it clear what the timetable will be.

He told the press that he would be speaking to the owners again on Sunday and that they should make the announcement on Monday (today). I would expect the owners already know what is happening and we’ll find out later.

A bit of patience is required

can you imagine the out cry on here and an even bigger drop in season ticket sales if the current owners did away with the cheap season tickets, the abuse the owners get would go to a whole new level, unfortunately our fan base have to accept for the club to advance we have to pay the correct going rate for season tickets, and not just blame the owners for not giving a top budget when we pay the least in the league for season tickets, something has to change

I think that's ridiculous to be honest. Why on earth would any prospective owner, regardless of their "emotional connection" to the club want the club to stagnate in the lower divisions? Because that's exactly what will happen without investment. If our club develops and progresses, their investment suddenly becomes worth more should they ever want to sell up.

Seriously, show me an owner who would think, yeh I'll buy the club for 5m and not spend a penny more, watch us stay in the third division or even get relegated and see that 5m worth half in the space of a few years.

And with regards to season ticket prices, I get your point but, you can't base that on this years season ticket fall, given the vast majority will not have renewed for other reasons than the 20 quid rise. Also, I'm sure many would happily pay more for their season tickets (myself included) should they see further investment and a real vision on the pitch from the owners.

I agree. And probably one of the main things they've been debating over the last couple of weeks. They're probably trying to work out a compromise.

Some of the posters on here just lack patience. Grayson is going about it the right way for me - came in for six months to have a look, thinks he can do it but needs certain assurances and one of these is the first team v development squad thing. Let's be honest that debate has gone on on the foruma discussed by ourselves for months!

OK. Question - why should the owners of a football club be obligated to fund it?

Shouldn't a business generate enough revenue to sustain itself without the need for owners to fund it?

I like Gregg, appreciate he’s been a great servant to this club and of course wish him nothing but the best in his recovery from a truly awful disease, yet in football terms, I cannot see how keeping Gregg on in his role as chief of recruitment/ scout will in anyway benefit a new management team whomever they should be.

I get the continuity notion, yet in my opinion, it will only serve to hinder a new manager stamping his own authority and implementing his own ideas, and if they don’t agree on targets then the conflict is there from the start. A new manager should be allowed to bring in all of his own chosen staff, who he trusts to get the right players in. Like I say, thanks Gregg, but new manager, clean slate.

If it's true then no more season tickets will be sold now, these owners have no ambition whatsoever, they can shove their last statement right up their arses.

Not sure if it is true that he's not taking the job and I doubt we will find out the truth of his demands, although as many have said managers are judged on how the first team squad perform, and if they persist with financing the development squad at the detriment of more money being available for first team strengthening they are going to go through a few managers IMO that have their belief.

I suggested around January that I would not object to seeing Robinson played along side Wyke. The kid has pace, spots a loose ball, and can shoot. Remind you of anyone ? ;)

Well the backing on the table can’t have been enough to give Grayson a realistic chance of getting us promoted. Jesus we’re in one almighty mess

Someone said Grayson was off and Rupp was arriving later in the week when he was in fact in the UK. Cant remember alias. Anyway Grayson wants the gig. A bit of compromise and he will be our manager next season.

Yep. That hasn't worked out. Easily the worst of the Wyke partnerships and unless we're going to drop Charlie, I don't know where he fits in

Actually reminds me of Gareth Evans, who in fairness went on to do OK (36 appearances for Portsmouth this season) and had similar bad luck with us. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out
