I don’t care if he stays or if he goes, just like SM last year, but I do want it deciding this week so we can start rebuilding for next season.

The owners have been here for three closed seasons now and each year they haven’t had a manager in place. This then stops the rebuilding starting for the forthcoming season.

can you imagine the out cry on here and an even bigger drop in season ticket sales if the current owners did away with the cheap season tickets, the abuse the owners get would go to a whole new level, unfortunately our fan base have to accept for the club to advance we have to pay the correct going rate for season tickets, and not just blame the owners for not giving a top budget when we pay the least in the league for season tickets, something has to change

Looks as though Grayson wants rid of the development squad taking funds away from the first team. A bigger budget and an improvement on training facilities? Not sure what he means by that last bit as they are better than they ever have been to be fair. Clearly still not good enough but can’t have it all in league one.

I agree on the development side of things. With no emergency loan windows now we have to use that money to sign 3 or 4 more first teamers or ones who can push the first team players when injuries kick in further down the line in the year.

I am 50/50 i he stays or not judging from his interviews. If he doesn’t he’s been an expensive consultant and a waste of resources

No manager wants money siphoning off to a development team as the very same manager is judged on the first team results only.

I for one hope they don’t go back on the mainstay of their policy and scrap the development squad. It’s long overdue and it should stay

It comes down to who you trust, 2idiots with no idea about football or a man who has been there and done it and been successful 4 times? I know who I trust, and if they don' back him then taking the job will only damage his reputation further.

I think that's ridiculous to be honest. Why on earth would any prospective owner, regardless of their "emotional connection" to the club want the club to stagnate in the lower divisions? Because that's exactly what will happen without investment. If our club develops and progresses, their investment suddenly becomes worth more should they ever want to sell up.

Seriously, show me an owner who would think, yeh I'll buy the club for 5m and not spend a penny more, watch us stay in the third division or even get relegated and see that 5m worth half in the space of a few years.

And with regards to season ticket prices, I get your point but, you can't base that on this years season ticket fall, given the vast majority will not have renewed for other reasons than the 20 quid rise. Also, I'm sure many would happily pay more for their season tickets (myself included) should they see further investment and a real vision on the pitch from the owners.

I happen to agree with the concept of the development squad but believe that at the moment, it does detract from the success of the first XI.

For sakeof argument, let's say that (1) the budget for the development squad is around £0.5m (including coaches etc and the players themselves) (2) that the first team playing budget is say £2m and (3) you're the intergallactic footballing controller with the final decision on how to allocate resources between the first team and the development squad.

What is your decision in extremis if you want to please most supporters and challenge for promotion? Do you maintain the current split between the two or do you transfer the resources to the first team budget and give them a better chance to meet the fans' expectations.

    The clock is ticking ....

They can't have it both ways they were aware of the season ticket prices when they purchased our club and were more than happy to tell eveyone who'd listen Bradford is a poor City and that would be the polocy they would work with, stating if/ when we get into the Premiership they would sell season tickets at £1, billy big balls Edin.

Yes they should be putting their hands in their own pockets because ultimatly they are the ones who will make a very good return on their investment if they are sucsessful, they came in implemented their ideas it wasn't sucsessful and by the soundbites in that article unless money if found their own or a loan, Grayson will walk and they are back to getting someone who believes in their model, maybe a 4th teir German manager.

I would be happy with an increase in ticket prices, provided it was explained in details to the fans how that money will be spent. How much is going to be spent in the first team, how much on youth, upkeep of the stadium etc. I think you would get a better response from fans if they knew what was happening. Some fans would not be able to stretch that much, but they might if they were offered a rolling direct debit on a monthly basis. I personally would like that to be interest free, or at the very least kept to a minimum. It would take out wondering how many fans would sign up at the 3nd of the season.

I would like to know how they plan to complete their original dream of Prem in 5 years ( seems ages ago so hope I'm not misinformed)..As they seem to be taking measures that is undermining any such aspirations think we should be told directly regarding any about turn. Obviously this season was a fair opportunity, but wasn't encouraged through mismanagement.

I agree. And probably one of the main things they've been debating over the last couple of weeks. They're probably trying to work out a compromise.

Some of the posters on here just lack patience. Grayson is going about it the right way for me - came in for six months to have a look, thinks he can do it but needs certain assurances and one of these is the first team v development squad thing. Let's be honest that debate has gone on on the foruma discussed by ourselves for months!

Supporters want instant success and very few ever think about what happens in the future. And I know that the vast majority would say put it to the first team.
Money has already been spent on this project with good coaches appointed and we have seen already some promising some youth coming forward.
If I were them I would invest a little more money to keep this going without detracting from the first team

OK. Question - why should the owners of a football club be obligated to fund it?

Shouldn't a business generate enough revenue to sustain itself without the need for owners to fund it?
