....and I’ll stick to it. Complete fluke that we are where we are, and it’s embarrassing to even think we’ll win the World Cup without even having to play a decent team #leastshitteamwins

Don't you have to be a trustee to have input into their pension fund ?.

I think you’ll find all the brinksmanship was from the other side. Fact is if Gibbs pension hadn’t bought the stadium we’d be afc Bradford city in the northern premier league

I'll agree we have certainly found ourselves in the easier group, but fluke, nah, in the games we've played we haven't looked in any danger, I believe we have a very good chance of beating Croatia, and then the Final is a one off game, France or Belgium would be favorites without doubt but I wouldn't right England off even in that situation.

How many more bombshells can the Bantam faithful take.
Following on from the coach debacle and a shirt that as lost its club identity we get the Toothpaste kid and Mr Motor whipping up a storm.
My opinion of course, you might be happy with proceedings but some folk out there will feel like me absolutely sick to the back teeth with this close season.
Well tommorows another day I await the next installment of what quite honestly would give Billy Pearce an the Alambra Panto a run for their money in the hilarity stakes.

I think he was never given the credit he deserved.

Gibb always stated he would have nothing to do with City while Rhodes was still there.
He always stated that City never needed to go into administration at that time the club could have continued trading, it was Rhodes who put BCFC into a second admin.

Gibb's pension fund has been paid back many times over since August 2003 and will continue to do so on a 25 year lease. Do the sums yourself at £370,000 pa when he paid £2.5m for the ground then.

Really don't get your statement of "He now sees the green shoots of a financially viable option". It Doesn't make sense as he can happily sit back for another 10 years and watch another £3.7m go into the pension pot.

Isn’t that exactly what Jack did? He sponsored us for years, then when we hit the buffers and needed the support, he walked away. We ended us signing up with Bradford & Bingley until they went bubble. Did Jack come back in to save us? No, it was left to Map to save the day.

It was only once we were earning profits again and the club were being successful that he came back and out-bid Map. Some like to put him on a pedestal but he’s just another businessman that looks after his own interests and has no loyalty to City

The the winner is........... yep the pension fund.

Seriously what will the ground be worth after those 10 years... nowt really. What happens then is another story but to the fund it will be a diminishing asset, irrespective of the 25 year superlative returns to its investment. If he owns the club then he’ll just get it to opt in to another 25 year lease thus sustaining the family pension fund!

so it's not a family pension fund then. It's for employees of flamingos land. Slightly off topic i know but I always thought it was his pension it was going to. Some in here certainly made it sound that way.
that t&a article says otherwise. They used employees pension money and invested it.

Is Gordon Gibb the Mandy Smith of the football world? Gets into bed with the aging businessman, and waits to collect the dollar when Jack passes away? And news that Jack has rolled his car adds to the conspiracy......

I’m not sure you say Tordoff has no loyalty due to the amount of time he has been associated with the club but i do agree with your sentiment, businessmen and women put money in but want something back for that outlay such as sponsorship etc. If it is detrimental to their bank account they won’t do it.

Gibb originally agreed to buy the ground with his own money (whatever that might mean) in return for an inflation linked rent. That and the sale of the offices to a property company would have kept the wolves from the door at VP until the point when JR later pulled the plug. VP was later sold to the Flamingo Land Pension Fund as an income earning investment and it's been in their hands since then. Gibb may be a member of the Flamingo Land Pension Scheme, who knows, but it's certainly not a personal or family fund.
