There probably are some who are jealous I don’t particularly care or wish to know how people feel about it, they have every right to want their money back if they loan the club money but I take exception with it’s done from the goodness of their heart.

Unfortunately Kev, what has this sport become. It’s a sad state of affairs at times.

I can't remember the details but I believe we were struggling financially at the time owing money to the banks, Mark made the offer of a loan to pay off the banks if I'm correct it could have blown up in Marks face, I remember him quoting it was his families inheritance he was risking.

Here's an article from WOTP written by Jason McKeown an interesting read and even more interesting replies both for and against Jason's article; especially this one from Sussex Bantam.

I just wanted to add my two’pennth here on the rate of interest debate. I know something about this as I run a business of my own with bank loans and loans from other wealthy individuals.

As others have stated the amount of interest charged depends almost entirely on the riskiness of the investment. A ‘safe’ investment (or one secured on real assets) generally gets charged at a bank of England (boe) rate pus around 4%. Ones which have no assets for security can be anything up to boe plus 10%.

Actually most of these are now badged against LIBOR but that is a whole extra debate..

My business has bank loans at 5% secured on our assets and other risk capital at 11% and 13%.

To suggest that ML was earning a rate of interest above the norm is just wrong – I would gladly take his million at 9% and replace some of my other investors !

Any super rich owner who takes on a football club outside of the PL should have ambitions of funding the club to reach the PL if they want a return. Exactly as Dean Hoyle did at Town and what the Oystons did at Blackpool. Then take the 200million windfall and say thanks very much.
Fans won’t like it but at least it’ll be a great ride whilst it lasts

Totally disagree. Like any other business football should be made to run inside it's income. The super rich like Hoyle & co are the ones who have ruined it and and changed it from a working man's sport to something akin to Formula One.

The only point I was making was that Lawn was taking more interest than Rupp !!!!!

Completely different circumstances as you well know, Lawns loan was offered as I posted when no financial institution would touch Bradford City, Bradford City OWED THE BANKS MONEY and according to some we may not have been far of administration number 3, where as any money Rupp is owed is because of HIS OWN NEGLIGENCE hooking up with that conman Rahic who caused the problem, Rupp wasn't aware of our situation until Bradford City fans pointed it out, you know the story stop trying to make out Rupp is the White knight in shining armor, we've gone backwards under his stewardship or havent you notice.

On sporting grounds yes Dave, on financial and commercial grounds we are years ahead than in any time in our history?
If only he would add some risk to his investment that’s the debate.

Very true Kevin but if things on the field continue to limp along, it will be harder to maintain the financial and commercial interest,

Not denying that whatsoever. It was a response to Dave’s comment for balance.

And there lies the problem, and as long as Ryan keeps the club self sustaining why would he invest, but my reply was correct with regards Lawns time of investing against Rupps.

It shows how bad we really are. How utterly clueless MH is. Our top scorer isn't even in our team. If that isn't ring a few alarm bells nothing will. Today was just as bad as any.

I can't disagree that first half was worse than Morecambe away where we knew they wanted to prove a point with regards Adams, today we looked clueless, I accept we have players coming back from injury that should improve us but these same players struggled before they picked up their injuries with the way Hughes wants us to play.
One of the few bright spots today was the lad Pointon who IMO had a good debut, lets hope Hughes keeps the faith in the kid there is nothing worse for any player who believes he's done well not featuring in the next game, surely Hughes has learnt from todays dire first half performance.
