I'm in two minds about what to expect on Saturday.

I think Hughes might accept that a back 5 isn't going to work for now.

But then we changed to a back 4 at Morecambe and it got worse.

Yeah he's made this far harder than it needed to be and the resulting backlash is off the back of it. Haven't a clue how he's gonna line up next Saturday.

Why are we detracting from the conversation- we need Rupp to sell and people like Sparks and his dodgy ideas and mates out of the club.

10 years since that famous season and it’s been a shit sandwich after shit sandwich and we as fans need to demand better

I'd keep Sparks at the club, but not in charge of the football side of things.

I don't know why Rupp thinks he can have everything all wrapped up in one.

Sparks is obviously pretty solid at the off field stuff. Bring in someone who is experienced enough to guide the club on the field.

Heck, Mark Hughes would be a massive improvement in our off-field staff. Send him upstairs. Have him deal with the next manager, someone to take over if things don't improve dramatically over the next 10-15 games. Hughes has given the club some sustainability, more than we're used to, and tearing everything down after a disappointing start to the new season would be a ludicrous mistake.

Hughes is just past it and the man is tactically inept.

His understanding of player strengths is non existent.

If there is anyone phoning it in at the club it’s Highes - and his handling of Jake young shows he has poor man management skills.

Disagree on Sparks. How can you say that what happened this summer on the tour wasn’t dodgy AF. And you want someone like that running commercial side of our club and signing deals and you’d be confident in saying he’s not taking back handsets?

the guy is an Arthur Daley wannabe.

Rupp does not care for our club. As a custodian he has been poor. Time for change.

    I get it.

We just lost 3-0, so everyone currently at the club is probably the worst in the football league.

I've been following the sport long enough to know how it works.

A bad start to the season doesn't change the fact Hughes took over a bang average side and steered them to the play offs. An 'ambitious' attempt to play a new formation that hasn't quite paid off doesn't mean we can't achieve anything this season. As we've been discussing already, we might just as quickly go to a back 4 and never try 3-4-3, 3-5-2 again. None of that would display 'tactical ineptitude'.

Hughes can't do right for doing wrong with our fans. We had a disappointing end to last season and while we were the sixth best club in the division, we weren't good enough to go up. So he addressed the issue of our lack of attacking midfielders, and so far has been let down pretty badly by all of Andy Cook, Harry Lewis, and captain Richie Smallwood.

But those 3 didn't become poor players overnight, just like Jake Young isn't suddenly a great player based on another strong start for a different club.

Young was a bit part player at FGR and has come here and been a bit part player here too. If he's suddenly Swindon's star player, that says more about the state of Swindon than anything else. I don't care about Jake Young. He's no more important than any other lower league player that came and left without making an impact. If you're expecting an Eoin Doyle-type run at Swindon, I'd be very surprised indeed.

As for Sparks, there's enough positive going on that suggests he's doing fine off the pitch.

If he's suddenly useless in the eyes of our fans, that's probably a 'fans' problem rather than a Sparks problem.

I can understand people going into full sulk mode right now, but what happens if we suddenly turn it round on Saturday and go on a little run? Does everyone still need to go, or can we sorta get over it for a little bit?

Of course the response will be "WE WON'T WIN ON SATURDAY OH WOE IS US", because like I've said several times, football fans cannot see beyond current form and assume every 3-0 humiliation will lead to an endless dire run of form.

I'm as much for change in ownership as the next guy, and the next guy won't have Sparks leading the football front if they've got any sense, but a lot of the issues can still be rectified.

Ok answer the question about the dodgy holiday company and the summer tour - how it was Spatks mate and not registered with ABTA or incorporated.

That’s one dodgy thing we’ve found - how many more from Sparks.

The scoreline got worse but for the most part I thought the performance looked a lot better.

Clearly we were chasing the game so we were left exposed at the back but at least we got the ball forward and crosses came into the box in the second half.

I think it's unfair to judge the "old" shape on that second half and I'd go with a back 4 again on Saturday.

I don't really know a lot about it to answer any questions on it. I didn't go, was never going to go, and thought it was a vaguely silly idea.

If you want to tell me about it, I'm happy to listen?

    So would I.

Both Oyegoke and the new lad Richards came in being able to play full back, but both attacking full backs, well... give it a go.

I'd go back to Halliday, Oyegoke looks a bit raw but Richards did well, all things considered.

Not sure how much Crewe’s squad changed this summer but they tore us apart last season. I’d go with a flat back four for this one - Ridehalgh, Richards, Stubbs, Halliday (or Richards, Platt, Stubbs, Halliday)

No, maybe do your research and find out what a charlatan of a CEO we have - it’s easy to piece together - use companies house, the T&A articles and ABTA registered agents. Then look at the prices charged and and what you can get on Expedia. It’s all there.

I mean you’re the one defending him - maybe find out about who you’re defending first.

I never read further than 'do your research'.

It usually translates as 'guess how I came to my ridiculous conclusion', and is the stupidest game people on the internet play.

You wanna prove something, it's on you to prove it.

And with that you’ve shown your ignorance and where your blind loyalty lies.

Companies House, T&A article in the summer and ABTA - it’s all there. The guy is a charlatan lining his pockets - it may be one thing found out but there is no doubt plenty more of Sparks doing dodgy deals with mates.

I already told you I was ignorant on this particular score and asked you to explain.

You being petulant because I don't know the ins and outs of one thing that Sparks has done is a worse look for you than it is for me.

You're on a public forum. You will be called upon to explain yourself. That's how conversations work on here.

'Do your research' is what people say when they have trouble explaining what it is they think that they know.

It goes a bit further than that, with the comments that poster has been making. This really is something for the Mods to worry about, but that poster has been making comments about a clearly identifiable individual that are or could be damaging to that individual. Unless that poster has definite proof...

You haven’t addressed the 4 litre Audi issue either.
If that’s not grounds for hounding him out of the club I don’t know what is.

Long ripped Halliday to bits at their place. MH will play the Brentford lad for his pace.
