An absolute disgrace, in any terms you wish to describe it. And a demonstration of the real agenda behind so much of this movement.

The demonstrators are relying on the apathy of the majority of the country , they have an agenda , but start to attack the historical figures of this country and it will backfire on them . The MSM are stoking the flames in the background , it is escalating on a daily basis .

Yeah, as Faithful says in the post below yours its now take a side time. Everything seems to be happening very quickly, almost like its been planned. The tearing down of statues was never on the minds of the looters and rioters in Minneapolis when they were showing their anger against the death of George Floyd. This whole movement has serious backing behind it in terms of organisation and Trump is exactly the sort of hothead who is spoiling for a scrap. This could get very ugly very quickly if they don't take action. I mean, when the likes of Walliam and Lucas get drawn into the equation you know things have gone on a worryingly sinister tangent.

The BLM movement should become a political party and that way they can be in a much better position to make the change they want.

Now Shilts has put his foot in it, in fact both feet and his head. But funny though, he's managed to get one side frothing at the mouth with his comments lol.

I didn't believe it at first until I was required to look into the origins of popular western contemporary music for my degree when I tried to do it the first time around. All western contemporary music that isn't classical can be traced back to either Blues or Ragtime. Ragtime initially found popularity as black musicians were forced to write songs mocking their own culture to make a living, which were delightfully titled as 'coon songs'. They later regretted this as white artists either re-recorded their compositions and took the money, or recorded songs that were even more degrading to black people. Ragtime was the first universally mass produced and widely bought sheet music and also the precursor to a lot of Jazz music, so it was the foundation of what we know as the modern pop music industry.I haven't even started on where the Blues originates from which begat Rock n Roll, or the practice of white musicians re-recording black artists songs which were the versions subsequently plugged and pushed on radio stations. This happened to people like Little Richard to such a degree, iirc it was Long Tall Sally that they wrote the lyrics to that were meant to be sang so fast a white person couldn't re-record it. I'm sorry it upsets your nice sensibilities but it's the truth.

    Edit:

Barring things like folk, gospel/hymns (depending on what you're referring to still has very strong roots in black culture). when was the last time you saw a folk song in the charts that isnt mumford and sons hence why i didnt initially include it in the description of 'pop music'. The industry itself historically has also been very racist which is why things like the MOBOs exist in the first place.

Edit Edit: After literally 5 minutes of research, country and western has influences of the Blues in it as well. so yes even country and western.

It was only groups like the Beatles who even attempted to give these artists the respect and recognition they deserved, before that it was common practice to re-record and release their original compositions with a white artist as the singer instead.

No idea because what I posted isn't related to that era. Punk is a form of rock n roll though so again takes it cue from the Blues. I was referring to things like this

Edit: So i took a bit of time to look into friggin in the riggin, are you seriously trying to juxtapose black people with pirates? Not even accusing you of racism just sheer stupidity.

England Rugby fans choosing a spiritual song developed by American negro slaves. I demand a campaign stopping this white privilege behaviour.

You followed me over to the cows arse, we had a slanging match. I'd completely forgot about it but it seems to still bother you. Best letting stuff go, not healthy to let things keep bothering you.
