As I say, it's a slippery slope. Theres lots of moral high ground being taken. I have no sympathy for the individual, but when people are sacked for opinions that dont break the law, I think it leads to a bad place. As I've said earlier, free speech is the cornerstone of democracy and it's being eroded. That worries me.

Never heard of colorism before. Genuinely no pun intended but doesn't this just muddy the waters even more?
It was this article on the BBC that I have just read that brought this to my attention.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53178088
From Wikipedia:
Discrimination based on skin color, also known as colorism or shadeism, is a form of prejudice or discrimination usually from members of the same race in which people are treated differently based on the social implications from cultural meanings attached to skin color.[1]
When people think of racism it is usually against people outside of their ethnicity. Colorism highlights biases that proliferate between persons of either different or even identical ethnicity. It is the belief that someone with any degree of lighter complexion is considered to be more beautiful or valuable than someone with dark skin.[2]
Research has found extensive evidence of discrimination based on skin color in criminal justice, business, the economy, housing, health care, media, and politics in the United States and Europe. Lighter skin tones are seen as preferable in many countries in Africa, Asia and South America.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Do we know if the bloke in question has served less than two years or the reasons given for his sacking? I'm just wondering if this debate is irrelevant anyway? -
I think huge is a bit of an exaggeration
Automatically unfair reasons for dismissal
Even if you’ve acted reasonably, some reasons for dismissal are classed automatically unfair. These are to do with the following areas:
- pregnancy, including all reasons relating to maternity
- family, including parental leave, paternity leave (birth and adoption), adoption leave or time off for dependants
- acting as an employee representative
- acting as a trade union representative
- acting as an occupational pension scheme trustee
- joining or not joining a trade union
- being a part-time or fixed-term employee
- pay and working hours, including the Working Time Regulations, annual leave and the National Minimum Wage
- whistleblowing

edit: less than 2 years and you have no right to claim unfair dismissal -
I’m done with Sky. No attempt at balance in any of their reporting on this vitally important subject. The part of a mainstream media narrative that’s making the problem worse.
Talk Radio interviewed Kevin Hurley yesterday and actually gave him the time to air his views.
