He’s got to go! We might as well lose 5-4 than 1-0 in the 94th minute. Yet another dinoasaur manager.

 

Saturday was confusing from start to finish.

We deserved to lose.

Like for like subs. Anderson playing 90mins.

It really was truely awful.

I agree. It could be the case that we're a long way from bottoming out. We're going to be saddled with some expensive contracts and players who we don't want - and I'd argue wouldn't be capable of performing in League 2. Without major surgery, League 2 is going to be a real struggle - forget any idea of bouncing back. If the make up of our League 2 squad is 80% based around what we've got, it's another relegation battle. You could very easily see us going down again next year. Throw into the mix the very possible scenario of ownership uncertainty and possibly even administration, and next season could be an even bigger nightmare. Not saying its nailed on, but its very possible.

We need a huge rebuild in the summer. That takes intent, money, stability and capability. Have we got any of those qualities? I don't believe so. We haven't even managed the basics well this season, so expecting an effective rebuild across one summer is a stretch.

For me, best case scenario - even if we conclude a quick sale to someone with money and 'smarts', is a season of just finding our feet and being around mid-table.

 

I honestly think this is one of the most stupid post ever. How many managers are we going to go through if they are sacked after 3 matches and 1 poor performance.
Bowyer should be given a contract for at least a year with a remit to start thinking about next season

 

I’m not even forming an opinion on Bowyer until next season. He’s inherited such a mess, how do you start to really judge? He’s going through the same process as Hopkin did – looking at the squad and thinking ‘there’s some real ability in there’, and rapidly understanding that the quality isn’t actually all that, the balance is all over the shop, we lack any sort of character and fight and some of the players are downright shite.

I don’t rate Anderson, but if his logic is that he wants some physical presence in front of the back four, then I understand the logic. He’s hardly spoiled for options.

With a bit of luck (A lot, actually) - Relegation may see about half our squad look 'elsewhere' for footballing employment. Which would mean half a job done, just by being in League two.

The major factor for me is ............. With what / whom do we replace those players with ? Half a great budget is hard enough, let alone half a poor one.
Offer me just 60 points total for next season, right now, and I'll take it. Like it or not - Lge 2 is like the Championship ....... A hell of a division to get out of (upwards), but SO easy to slip back further. I doubt next season will hurt the Club severely, but 2020/2021 could be catastrophic.
Like you, before our fate is even sealed - I will temper all expectations, until I see genuine proof of real progress.

 

I think you’ll be disappointed. These gutless, spineless cowards don’t have the balls to go and look for another club. They’ll be perfectly prepared to sit on their arses and bleed the club dry for the duration of their contracts.

 

We could 'try' our luck by placing them ALL on available for transfer, come the end of season. There must (gulp) be some other mugs who will be suckered, as we were ?

Bowyer is appointed for next season, fails in Div 2 and we end up in danger of going out of business, Rhodes stays on to help the club, Parkinson is sacked at Bolton and is out of work, Rhodes still in contact with his mate Parky and is offered the job of saving us and history repeats itself!!
Unlikely but just a thought.

 

Well I lauded the bloke after the Posh game, witnessed some immediate improvements, no long ball, kick outs to the flanks, Butterfield in an advanced role, then surprisingly got it very wrong on Saturday, O’Brien has to start he’s one of very few successes this season, I would even play him at left back if for some strange reason he can’t get a midfield spot
