Gutted but I don't blame Sunderland or JM, they did what all teams would including us. The officials are a total joke, robbed us of a point on what was otherwise a good day our. Their fans didn't make a peep except when they scored though so don't know how they can say anything about ours.

Anyway, we are chalk and cheese performance wise to where we were a moth ago, keep going and we'll be fine. It's the Rochdale and Scunthorpes of the world what will send us down if we aren't careful not losing to the top teams away from home as much as we shouldn't have.

JM is a cheat but you are right, why would he admit it? cost his team 3pts. People are ludicrous if they think he should have admitted it. But its still cheating.

Im not sure which bit of what JM has done is cheating to be honest. He has tried to stop the ball going over the line. That isnt cheating. The margains are so fine and it happened that quickly that he might not have known if the whole of the ball had gone over the line, he was just trying to make sure it didnt. Is taking a throw in 5 yards higher up the field cheating? What about Toney's goal for the Posh, was that cheating. I think using the word cheat in this instance is harsh.

Whether or not things go unpunished if against the rules is cheating. Quite simple really.

So what’s he done that is classified as cheating then within the rules of the game? I fully expect the EFL are looking into it?

Agreed he was never gonna tell the ref in the same way a striker who dives or handles won’t. It’s still cheating though if he knew it was over the line.
If you see someone drop a £20 note is it ok to pick it up and ‘steal’ it if you know who’s it is?

Answer the question then?? What has he done within the laws of the game that is classed as cheating? You clearly dont understand the term at all. You can only cheat if you have broken the rules to gain an advantage, JM didnt do that. He broke not one rule. He attempted to stop the ball crossing the line. Thats it.

He has an absolute right to try stop the ball crossing the line but it’s his reaction afterwards where he knew it had gone in but jumped up immediately and quickly tried to get on with game like trying to convince the officials that it hadn’t.

Are you his dad or something? Pre-meditated cheating / rule breaking it was not but pleading ignorance is not a get out of jail free card.

I am also a Sunderland fan and was pretty much in line with the goal line - we were amazed when it wasn't given as it had so clearly gone in. At the time I thought you should have had a penalty as well. There is no doubting we had the luck and the refereeing decisions on our side but, as with all teams, we can point to some awful refereeing that has gone against us this season. It was a massive 3 points for us as we needed to come back after a defeat and with such a big crowd it was almost certain to go bad for us...but it didn't.

For what its worth I though you were a good team but just seemed to lack any punch up front. You seemed to be really competitive and very well organised. We had most of the pressure but couldn't capitalise on it and when you broke you seemed to have a good plan going forward and broke with pace. I was impressed with your midfield. Also, you fans played their part in what was a great atmosphere. Good luck for the rest of the season but I'm pretty sure you'll be safe.

I'm sure you've had some bad refereeing decisions but they didn't put you back in the relegation position, that's the difference

I would classify it as 'unsporting behaviour'. Deliberately deceiving the referee into believing the ball had not crossed the line, when the keeper quite clearly knew that it did. He got away with it. You could call it a 'professional foul'. But doing something like that is anything but professional. Shame on him.

Exactly! He tried desperately to cover up his major blunder in front of 46000 people.
I never rated him for us anyway. Got beat at his near post too often and was really only a good penalty stopper. I thought Duke was better and Pickford definitely was.

He dragged the ball back over the line, looking all suspicious in the process. The act of doing that regardless of if he was trying to save it is cheating. If someone dives in the box its cheating. If someone commits a foul its cheating. Its really not hard to grasp.
