    Very untrained.
Dozens standing on the stairs in the North West corner.
I nearly knocked a girl down the steps nipping to the loo.
Told a steward to clear the stairs before someone was injured.
    Shrugged his shoulders

Just hope it’s the ‘ping pandemic’ that caused all these problems today with the catering and kiosk issues. If not it’s all been hype as usual

All this talk of back your bantams and get behind the side for the homecoming and there was that shit show yesterday. How many fans may have gone for the first time in years let alone 18 months yesterday and might not even bother coming back now? We were lucky we got the late goal, but I am sure a lot will be put off.
We have known for weeks now it would be around 17k. How didn’t anyone at the club think we need staff and kiosks to match the demand.
It’s ok sparks saying he will look into it but it was a massive chance missed yesterday and you know we’ve only had about 6 months to know what was happening. Dire

I can't believe people actually eat and drink at a football match. It's overpriced, generally doesn't taste very good, and takes ages to get served. Can't you go 90 mins without a drink or something to eat? There's loads of pubs open before and after the game, and there's a McDonalds just down the road selling burgers for a quid.

You could say that about anywhere like the cinema or a concert. It's all part of the experience and the day out.

And we all know cinemas and concerts have the same problem (its about 6 quid for a box of popcorn at a cinema I believe). What I'm trying to say is, that there's no point complaining, when nearly everyone knows the problems to begin with. If you know it's going to take ages to get served, and the burger is going to be overpriced, and the beer is flat/warm, then that's your own choice.
HOWEVER, would be great for the club to try and buck the trend. Especially after they've trumpeted about it the last couple of weeks.
Speaking from personal experience - there is a huge shortage of hospitality staff at the moment. Cannot find anyone to work. Bars, restaurants, kiosks are not opening because there's no one to work them. Same goes for security companies, stewards etc. People are literally being employed via a Facebook advert, given no training, and sent to work the day they applied. I suspect that's what's happening at football grounds.

Agree with you to a point Tallinn back in the days it was a gallon before the match mainly at Haigys and free nosh. Rugby fans enjoy there ale watching games at all levels. Magic Weekend up north you can drink Newcy Brown Ale all day and watch Super League (RFL)
But City Carling Darling that is not for me .

Appreciate what you’re saying but it’s easy money if you get it right. You can mark it up and people will pay it as long as it’s half decent and mainly fast service! People get to the games after work and all that so can see the demand for the food. Particularly on night matches

Thought they might have had Worthingtons smoothflow on draft in the stands instead of take it or leave it Carling, Understand the call for craft or local brews but they do go off very quickly and can be a lot of wastage if not selling daily, Carling and Worthington will last 3 weeks and Cider up to 6 months on draft where craft ales usually last 4 days and then down the drain especially if left at room temp without constant cooling like in beer cellars

I don't buy drinks at Valley Parade, preferring to frequent some of the high quality bars within walking distance of the ground. Consequently, I get to Valley Parade just before kick off, which means I also tend to eat elsewhere too.

I've long given up on Valley Parade ever selling a range of decent ales and food and the only grounds I tend to eat and drink at are the likes of Oxford United and Coventry City that sell real ale and a good range of food in their away sections.

I tend not to look at prices. If I want a beer, I'll get a beer. My other feeling is, you can't get a decent bottle of wine for under a tenner. The most expensive beer I've ever bought, was a 25cl of Närke Kaggen Stormaktsporter, which I got in a bar in Stockholm. It cost me 67€.

So how much we betting here? :)

67 Euros is only about 4 of Her Majesty's great British pounds or something. So cheap.

Theyre not aiming at you, as Hoochy mentions the cinema you wouldn't go there for a pint of real ale.
