don't know anything about him, but good experience, Accy wanted to keep him in League 1 and he's a giant. we could have done worse.

can't be worse than O'Connor and NKP.

seems a solid signing, addresses our lack of height/balls/strength and dropped down a league to play in front of a big crowd which implies hes of strong character. A bit of an injury worry but I feel like the days of players getting injured never to be seen again are behind us.

He certainly likes a tackle and good in the air just what we need, plus he can find a decent long range pass. He seems to have pace which we lacked last season , so we just need another decent centre back to partner him.

Have none of you learned from last year?

Let's see him play before building him up.

    Welcome Ben and good luck.

With that kind of height he could be useful at both ends of the pitch.

I've a feeling we might be able to get Paudie O'Connor back now the Whites have fluffed it again, he's certainly not Championship level .

This happens every pre season, it's nothing new. A bit of excitement with signings is needed after a miserable 18months!

Apart from the fact that O’Connor is shite? Nearly nobody wants Anthony to still be here come the start of the season, but you’d be happy to keep playing him?

I know I know I had the get the fingers n toes out to get his age right, I was corrected by @bantamlad92@bantamlad92 but I reckon if he stays fit and gets a decent tun in the side then we'll know what were getting. Having listened to his interview that's what he intimates has gone wrong for him last season. Easy to say that I know, but he cant be any worse than the two charlatans we had last season. Give him a run and let him find his feet, build some momentum and we can judge him then

I agree but to add a little balance Ben seems well liked whilst in OConnors case there was hardly anyone with a good word for him

Sad to say, I think his future is more likely to be FC United, than Man U!

No big sell on bonus here!

It’s Interesting that both Parky and now Bowyer seem to put great store in looking at the character of any potential signings. But without knowing the guy personally it seems that OConnor might have slipped through the net

Poor characters will always out themselves.

I'll be happier when we sign a second CB, mind - it will signal that O'Connor is either a bencher, or on his way.

I know it doesn’t mean much, but he was very well thought of at United, at U23/U21 level. He was a captain, also.

Like I’ve said in another thread, most of the players last season were utter gash. Funny that, you usually just get a handful. We can point our finger at one man until the cows come home, but the fact is, the players need to take a good long, hard look at themselves.

Those players who are still under contract for this season should be allowed a clean slate. We have a very good team on paper - and I know that won’t go down well with a few of you - truth hurts.

He looks quick which is what we have lacked, Looks committed in the tackle and can see why he may miss games with injuries, But looks good in the air and a commanding figure so hopefully just what we need. Just need an organiser at the back with him now to make the best out of him, someone who is 6,5 with a football brain should be easy to find :)

I think parts of last seasons squad mixed in with the right signings would be OK until Bowyer can get entirely his own team

His punctuation reflects his own thoughts. Punctution can illustrate a perspective.
Allow me to demonstrate, please ..........

"Woman without her man, is a beast."

    OR

"Woman, without her, man is a beast."

    See ? Simples, isn't it ?? :)

Perhaps. But although I consider myself educated, I still try to read and comprehend the scribes of those who maybe below that level. Many can communicate very well, verbally, but struggle in the written situation.
It is not not for me to judge my fellow man for expressing themselves, be they understood, or not. :)
