Love a couple of pints of beer before a match.

Meeting up with people, a bit of banter.

However never needed to run onto the pitch or set off smoke bombs or flares.

My view is that people do that, as they are attention seeking and probably inwardly anxious, having to make a show for others, to demonstrate their (lack of) worth.

I thought this forum was about exchanging opinions. My opinion is my opinion. Of course I think it's correct or I wouldn't hold it. Yours may differ.
You may think that the hooliganism of the 70s and 80s is something to fondly reminisce about. I don't. It was pathetic, unnecessary and damaging to football back then and it's reappearance would be wholly unwelcome. Of course it's no big deal to you since you're on the other side of the world and wouldn't have to suffer the consequences of a hooligan revival.

This is a trend happening at a lot of clubs, not just Bradford City. Normally that part of the kop is fairly empty but lately the schooligan mob have turned up en masse just after half time. It was the same at Walsall last week before the penalty, like watching a Benny Hill sketch as the mob of stone island clad kids running about like headless chickens.

There has to be preventative measures in place. The stewards rightly or wrongly don't even try to stop anyone in this situation so I think it's time the netting is back for the first few rows of the kop as others have said.

    And then what?

Reviewing an incident such as this is to be applauded but only as the start of the process. What action will the club be taking against the perpetrators to avoid a repetition of something similar?

What has a middle class snobby tennis game got to do with what once was a working class game (football). It has no comparison.

From an old fart and a happy clapper, I don't agree with your post, but it doesn't matter if you or I accept it I'm not sure the FL would have the same opinion.
I'm no expert on where the football pitch starts and finishes but I'd suggest if fans climb over the advertising board then they have entered the playing area, I think that's how the FL might interpret the situation.

That is rather a trite remark. Look if you enter someone else’s property and do not respect the rules, then they are not going to readily invite you back.

To give you an analogy, if someone went into your house and jumped up and down on your sofa, would you be willing to invite them round on a regular basis.

Face ‘facts’, pitch incursion is against the rules. Simple really.

But in today's "namby pamby" world, are stewards allowed to grapple with fans? Could they themselves be warned/cautioned for man-handling what are in effect children.

The world has gone mad and maybe this is why there is little prevention in relation to fans getting onto the pitch

I can honestly say that I have never gone on the pitch, to what could be termed as ‘showing off’ my passion. I am still a ‘passionate’ fan, but someone who doesn’t need to behave in an immature and irresponsible manner.

Whether you like it or not, the rules of the FA E20, clearly state pitch incursions are against the laws of the sport. For the avoidance of doubt, FA Rule E20(a) states that Each Affiliated Association, Competition and Club shall be responsible for ensuring:
    (b) that no spectators or unauthorised persons are permitted to encroach onto the pitch area, save for reasons of crowd safety, or to throw missiles, bottles or other potentially harmful or dangerous objects at or on to the pitch’.

You may wish to remind yourself that other clubs who have played us have been fined considerable sums! http://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/pdf/the-fa-2015-16/fa-v-reading-regulatory-commission-final-decision-reasons.ashx?la=en

If you don’t like it then you have a few options:
    • Join a Supporters group and lobby for a change in the law.
    • If no Supporters group meets your requirements form one yourself!
    • Stop going to football as clearly you no longer like football in its current guise.
    • Reflect on the situation and accept that it is the law.
Whinging is going to achieve zilch and could be seen as rather petty! As they say ‘put up or shut up!!

I think the issue comes about when the 'passion' boils over and someone smacks a steward for trying to stop them going on the pitch. That happened on Sat.

I get running on the pitch if you win the league or promotion on the last day of the season but twice this season already is pretty moronic.

Sadly your last sentence just about sums up the strength of your position. When you try to ‘belittle’ someone to try and gain the upper hand. Rather than having a go at those who comply with the FA and Bradford City rules/laws, do something about it constructively, write to the FA and Bradford City and tell them you fundamentally disagree. Try and change the rules/laws.

Totally agree. Wasn’t it a pleasant change to see the players celebrate after the two goals instead of the being swamped in a sea of idiots.
