Genuine question, how would the club enforce any kind of ban? I don’t remember ever having my season ticket checked, when we had the electronic ones my barcode never worked and they just let me through every time.

 

Yes, I was at Belle Vue that day. Just as I had gone through the turnstiles, some, as you say, invaded the pitch, It was pathetic. If you fondly reminisce about such incidents from 4 decades ago, you are even more immature as I thought you were

 

Didn't even go on the pitch but late a goal celebration got them a £400 fine. Google this stuff and you find plenty of people are being fined and sometimes banned, depending on the severity of the offence.

There are now plenty precedents for this stuff and they are clamping down. Expect a fine for a first offence and a ban if you have previous. You'll get a ban on the first offence is there is aggravating behaviour. It's a wonder we've not had any arrests yet. You'll be lucky if you just get chucked out and avoid a criminal record. I do think the club could make it clearer, though. Perhaps some kind of painted warnings on the floor that exitting the stand to the front without authorisation is a criminal offence or players and staff only beyond this point.

 

I've never ruled by the 'iron fist' - However there is a line (on both sides), whereby one side takes action, and the other responsibility (the punishment). 'Rules are meant to be broken', some hark/bark. Yet there are also those who live by a 'take what you want' culture, and any warnings would neither be seen, let read - not to mention .... obeyed.
It is therefore up to the older generations to lead by example, and openly make known their disapproval of any such antics known.
That in itself can lead to reprisals, but the majority should stand, not collapse.

I have no desire to take 'todays' fun out of football, but neither do I want my own enjoyment spoiled by a few selfish people, who seemingly care less about themselves, than those about them.
Taking control in any situation can be challenging, but having control of your own actions (and therefore consequences), is the easiest of all.

 

Presumably they would distribute pictures to turnstile operators and stewards in the area they frequent.

 

We need @Bronco as a spotter with his binoculars and clipboard to scan the crowds as they arrive. He could hide in the bushes on that grassy bank behind the kop.

Couldn't believe the guys at the turnstiles frisked me, as we were talking I said make sure you do a search on our younger end as they WILL have smoke bombs with them, they obviously didnt do a good job as I saw at least two let off to our left.

 

I just got lucky then .

 

Yet that was where all the schooligans were entering. But they fleeced old gimmers like Bronco and me at the nearer turnstile.
