Football has had millions for years it’s time for the recipients to help out in rough times. Spread some of that wealth out

    Why? Why? Why?

Let's take Bradford for example. Our owner is worth approx 100m(cash/assets. I don't care what it's made up of) the let's look at Salford, Mansfield Etc

The PL are helping because as I said right at the start of this lockdown that PL football needs to come back to help the lower league clubs and once again I am right. The new tv deal to get the football back on the money is going to the lower leagues.

Then next season as McCall said, PL will loan players out without a fee.

Bradford again for example have had lots of money for PL clubs for players but choose not to invest in improving off the pitch in terms of training ground, owning a stadium etc. That's Bradford's decision and an extremely poor one. Don't now start with the begging bowl!

@SimonW@SimonW is right. Most clubs just waste the money given and have no plan going forward. What is Bradford City's identity? Doesn't have one.. Micky mouse charity club maybe.

The PFA need to do more and and EFL also. I havent got a clue how testing is going to happen for div 2 clubs but don't expect anymore for the PL now.

Spread the weath.. are you going to give up your pension to help the young people in the covid 19 economy recovery mission? NO! So why should PL clubs do more than what they're doing already.

Stop moving the goal posts, your arguing all adults over 70 with or without underlying conditions should not be allowed to attend.

But the vast majority (95%+) of those were compromised. Only about 500 each of age 60-79 and age 80+ Covid-19 deaths so far were uncompromised people in English hospitals. Over 80s Covid-19 deaths were actually only 448 healthy people (4%). 13,360 (96%) were compromised. In an average year about 11% of over 80s die in the UK. That's around 350,000 people! That puts the Covid-19 numbers into context.

Should we force them to hide if they don't want to? The healthy are still obviously at a much much bigger risk from other things at that age than from Covid-19 - slipping on ice, falling down stairs, slipping in the shower, food poisoning, suicide, flu, stroke, infected scratch. Everything is dangerous at that age. Give them a break! Why should we force them to have miserable lives in hiding if the hospitals are doing okay? Is that why they suffered in WWII - so younger people could tell them they can't go see a football club they've followed all their lives? Nobody has enjoyed lockdown recently yet some young want to force old to stay because it's dangerous outside? Let healthy of any age in at their own risk. It barely registers as additional risk for healthy over 80s when so many will die from other stuff anyway. Advise the compromised not to attend - but even the over 80s compromised deaths with Covid-19 in English hospitals so far is still only around 4% of the total UK deaths in that age group each year. So long as hospitals can cope and there is no escalation in general infections that poses a rising threat to others, let old people have some pleasure if they wish. Let them meet their friends and have pint and a laugh. Just make it clear that the club is not liable for the result of any infection even if you could find some way of proving it. The UK suicide rate for over 70s is up 6-fold in lockdown. We need to start living again instead of worrying too much about dying.

Look mate the lockdown is a joke. Scientists will always be concerned and want to take baby steps and it's madness to run a country by them.

Unfortunately the government wants to keep the we are run by the scientists line and the scientists here are not moving on this 2m social distance. Scientists just agrue with each other, rip things up and start again.

The government want the economy back but offices are closed, hotels not open, restaurants and pubs closed. Its madness.

Think it's a case of we all know the information now let us decide but they won't so football clubs need to be smart to get fans back

Only 1m spacing in French restaurants and 1.5m in Australian ones yet you think they won't budge on 2m for outdoor football?

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/coronavirus-2-metre-distance-restaurant-pubs-tory-mps-a9540021.html

Senior Conservatives have urged Boris Johnson to review social distancing rules requiring people to stay two metres apart amid fears over the hit to the hospitality sector.

Greg Clark, chair of the Commons Science and Technology Committee, called on the prime minister to consider reducing the two-metre limit to one and a half metres in light of new evidence from the government’s scientific advisers.

Mr Clark, a former cabinet minister, said documents recently published by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), indicate infection risk “falls sharply by 1.5m” and urged a review of the rules before non-essential shops begin to reopen in two weeks time.

The question came up today and basically it was a case of 2m is the safest distance.

They're not moving on it just like not telling everyone to wear masks.

They will move. In time (and not too much time). The health of the economy is at risk now. As I said above, that will take the precedence.

No he won't. He'll firstly blame the scientists because the PM only ever follows the scientific advice(!); then he'll blame us, the great unwashed for not following Govt advice and staying sufficiently alert and finally he'll sack Handcock 'cos he's the resident fall guy. But we can all be assured that none of the responsibility will stick to the PM ;)

Yes, you're correct this is what will happen but the next general election he will have a battle on his hands to win.

Because while you set pretty correcting your pension not having to worry about the economy the young people will have too. One of the reasons you seem not to care about the economy. You wouldn't !so don't expect PL clubs to help EFL clubs more than they have done.

In the somd clubs have given Bradford have had plenty of money and if Bradford choose not to invest it wisely then that's up to them. We don't own anything . That's down to us not managing the club correctly and nothing to do with the PL.

PL clubs are still losing no money during this covid 19 period. Think Utd said they have lost 23m already.

The premiership have had it good for years taking huge amounts of money fleecing fans and paying players obscene amounts of money they need to put something back
