In terms of eateries yes, there is very little. You are talking pubs like Bobbin Carrier at chain bar or the one at the Premier Inn, near Cleckheaton cricket club, or then venturing into Wibsey, but that’s mostly takeaways or pubs. Other than that, Maccis on Mayo Avenue, or KFC at Osdal top. Greggs/subway at Chainbar…… Not much is within walking distance.

The Royal and Chapel House are probably best closest options.

Plenty of pubs in Wibsey village for those who like a pint. Not sure in terms of real ale for those types, but cue gardens defo the closest. Woodman on Manchester Road, Dropkick on Halifax Road (if still open) or the one off Odsal Top roundabout, next to CCL computers, are others close ish.

can’t see us moving though Kev so worry not. More chance of a housing developer buying Odsal off the RFL than a ‘poor’ club like us moving in?

Didn’t @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler once give some insight into the state of the soil there, which he gleaned from his time with Sir Ken, when the site had been assessed?

I vaguely recollect something about the ‘quality’ of the land there not being great?

Someone ought to get in touch with Zayn Malik - he's a City fan and it wasn't long ago since he was posting about our matches on X week after week. He's worth hundreds of millions by now, surely he could put a consortium together.

Very much my thoughts Dave. Although I get times when I am feeling quite down about the situation (like now!) I will carry on attending not just through habit but my late wife got me started with this back in 1974/75 and it's in my blood now, I also feel like I owe it to her, she would want me to crack We've
We've probably met on Dolly trips and in the Dolly so you know it's a Bantams and beer thing.

I feel like the council, Bulls and City (and Park Avenue) should have got together years ago and built a purpose built stadium and a retail park. Think Bolton, Doncaster etc.

I know people don't like the out of town retail park stadiums, but there's opportunities to make money. Valley Parade and Odsal may aswell both be out of town anyway. There's not that much around each site so if it was done correctly it would have worked.

Was never going to happen. It's a shame, because the potential was there. Obviously the lack of land and other factors don't help, but if you don't try in the first place then who knows what's available.

Anyway won't ever happen and VP will end up a basket case. The club surely won't want to pay for major upgrades on it?

It's like renting a house and putting a new kitchen in, you wouldn't do it.

Commercial lease's are a very different animal to a private/tenant lease arrangement.
    They are Chalk & Cheese

The best option Kev would have been for the council to move the Bulls down to Valley Parade, sell the tipping rights for Odsal, which would have raised a lot of money, and then sold the land off. Yes I know we would have got the usual "the egg chasers will ruin our pitch" but things have changed in that respect, you only have to look at Premiership Rugby pitches on tv, plus rugby players are athletes these days, added to that there are no longer contested scrums in rugby league these days which was the big culprit for digging up pitches back in the day.
However due the ownership situation regarding Odsal and Valley Parade and the fact that Bradford Council hasn't got the vision or a pot to p**s in that ship has sailed I am afraid.

    Maybe not

The announcement on who has bought the Odsal lease from the RFL will be announced any day now

The last I heard the covenant saying the lease must allow RL to be played at Odsal has been removed also ... Interesting times

Malik isn’t worth anything remotely into the hundreds of £m’s

£75m according to google , far less than Rupp.

My dads drive is bigger than yours.
    Any how, mates rates £1.50.
Saw your kid before the Salford game and was glad to hear that things appear to be going the right way.
