So, does this have legs? 15k ST holders. Could half of them find £750? I know that's very simplistic but would enable Rupp to walk away from City with most of his original investment.

Sorry but, no chance. Thousands of our STs are kids. I got my three a seat each as they were cheap and even if they don’t turn up its extra space.

we need to know really how many are adults/senior citizens. Then what % of those would be willing to cough up cash?

I doubt we’d get over 1k doing so, personally, as these things sound good on paper but don’t really work in reality?

Yeah, unfortunately we don't have 15,000 adult st holders.

Also, bollox to 10 million, it's ridiculous.

I for one , would be willing to invest, in either a fan buy out of Rupp or the pension fund with the aim of applying pressure on the club / Rupp.
But as i said in the Jake young thread, won't happen , hot air comes to mind where this forum is concerned

It's in writing, i am willing to put the money in, that's a start.
We will be lucky if 1000 are willing to follow .
I have personally put money into Stuarts fighting fund and bought extra season tickets when they ran the scheme for those with less income. Also put my hand in my pocket during the admins.
I spoke with James Mason at the time and a lot less than 1000 actually joined those scheme's.

    Sorry, missed that, Bryan.

I guess the question is, how many households hold ST's. Reason I ask is, a family of 4 might not be able to pay in twice - which is the implication.

I think a scheme like this might work best with a consortium to lead it. If 4 people put in a million each and were backed by fan investors with a clear remit and minimum/maximum level of input, that might work better.

    I agree.
My wife and I are both ST holders.
No way could we afford to spend £1500 so our very wealthy owner (who has wealth we can only dream about) can get a completely unrealistic price for the club.

One might suggest to Stefan that a truly proud custodian might be only too willing to hand the club back to the fans at a significant discount. After all, we are not custodians, this is our club - we even turn up from time to time :shifty:

Most fans in this season ticket number baulk at paying £15 to watch a cup match, or come out in hives at the prospect of anything near the market rate for a season ticket, which I think tells us all we need to know.

Say we raise funds to buy the club. How do we then fund player wages of circa £3m per season, stadium rent, training facilities rent, maintenance, office staff wages, policing costs etc annually?
Then pay out for a season ticket on top.
It's a nice idea but not realistic, in my opinion.

Ok, so we get the cash together and buy the ground as you have suggested multiple times now.

Then what? Do we all have to fork out more for maintenance and upkeep? Do we receive the rent money from the club and split it? Is it a gift back to the club and if so then wouldn't it just make Stefan Rupps hand stronger?

I'm not sure you've really thought it through and at the moment it just reads as a daft throw away comment.
