Having watched the "highlights " and listened to the post match interview I think Adams is justified in criticising those defenders.
The first was yet another where ROD was beaten at his near post and the second reminiscent of those scored in Sunday League football.
Presumably the goalkeeping coach should share some of the blame.

Recent managers have been too soft after similar displays.

Just watched the highlights myself, deary deary me - what an embarrassment. If this doesn't give Hornby his chance in the next game(s), something is drastically wrong.
Once again O'Donnell was embarrassing in his feeble attempts at stopping both goals.
The first at his near post that he was 'covering', the second, well nothing short of ridiculous.
This can't go on, any outfield player would have lost their place by now.

Whilst I agree that Rod is culpable and probably needs dropping surely we have to mention the horrendously feeble attempts by both of our centre halves who were out jumped and out muscled. Both have to accept at least a good portion of the blame, as does Threlkeld for not having a clue what was going on behind him and couldn’t recover anywhere near quick enough.

 

That second one is horrendous viewing for Canavan

 

Yes agree too NM, all too often this is what happens.
However the goalkeeper has to give his defenders some sort of confidence - O'Donnell doesn't do this, therefore confusion and panic sets into the defenders.
How many times, both home and away, have we seen ROD concede from 25yds when he has a clear sight of the ball?
Equally, how many times has he conceded at his near post?
O'Donnell has been at this club far too long and has been part of the sides that have plummeted down the leagues, he has a defeatist attitude as a result.
Time to move him on for the good of all concerned.

I might be in the minority here, but I have been very underwhelmed with Canavan, he is not alone of course, but he is one player I was expecting much more from.
