Not sure that the agent would have had input into that deal. It is a club to club arrangement. all Doyle & his agent would have been asked was , do you fancy going to Swindon. It would be irrelevant to them if there is a buyout clause & also what % of his wages are being paid by Swindon. He'll still be getting his contact paid by BCFC into his bank.
If the clubs did decide to make any arrangments on the transfer, as you say he would be in a good position as he would be into the last 6 months of his contract. Whether Doyle & his agent want to run the contract down and then have to scramble with the 000's of other footballer at that time of year would be their gamble.

If Swindon at least offered him a 18 month contract they may want to take that option, but I suggest they would be looking for a 30 month deal going forward.

He will 6 months left on his contract so when it come to a buy off the agent and player have every right to ask for something like that to be removed or simply not agree to the move.

He is currently leading goal scorer in Div 2 and if he is up for sale then he would get a bigger move than bloody Swindon.

He’s had his so called ‘big move(s)’ and nine have worked out for him for a variety reasons.

I’d have thought, at 31, he might just fancy being at a club where he is happy, appreciated and, hopefully, getting promoted. He’s L1 standard at best.

    Where he should happy! Seriously!

Football is a short career and at 31 with contract up in the summer he has one big move for his standards in him. He can get a signing on fee and wages he wants to a degree. I believe Peterborough enquired about him before he moved to Swindon so league 1 clubs will fancy him.

His profile right now his high. Bradford City will be foolish not to recall him and considering Donaldson and Vaughan are picking up injuries and Doyle is proving himself at this level i feel we will as we want to so up. The Doyle and will move in the summer!

Football fans are funny. Never seem to be realistic in their thought process. Love is blind!

It will be all about money, We were short of cash and needed more players and that is why we allowed him out on loan to release wages, GB never wanted him to go and if the finances have improved especially after the McBurnie windfall then GB will want him back to boost the squad

Peterborough only look for strikers with potential sell on fees. In January the clubs policy should be to bring him back unless Swindon meet our demands. For what it will cost us we are bringing back a goal scorer that could be the difference between us and Swindon going up.

He can only play for City or Swindon this season so he can't get a bigger move till the summer when his contract is up. I don't think he wants to come back here and I'm sure City will do a deal with Swindon in January.

When we started the season yes it's all about money because you look at reducing a wage bill because of going down etc. A team hopes to go up but not sure what will happen but looking at where we're now and how awful the league is, it now just comes down to risk v reward because the footballing world knows Doyle can score goals in this level.

You also have to take how utterly foolish Bradford City would look if Doyle fires Swindon to div 1 while we don't go up.

Yes I know he can't go to another club in Jan.

It's not about what Doyle wants. BRADFORD CITY ARE NOT A CHARITY!

The only small thing that I would add, is that Doyle would have got appearance money and potential win/goal bonus if he had played in the FA cup, which would have been additional income.

On a personal level it would have given him a chance to add to his already impressive scoring record.

If Swindon progressed, then the whole issue of financial benefit and personal gain, in a second round tie, would be a potential bonus for Doyle.

Not sure all the other moves have ‘worked out’ for him, otherwise he would have probably not moved around as much.

Look offer him an 18/30 month Contract from 1/1/2020 and you can have him from my point of view.

My anxiety is that he has a mental/emotional block about playing for City, so he may as well go now.

If he has that security he can settle in your area and look beyond the current short term situation.

It’s totally what Doyle wants, if he comes back in a sulk and doesn’t perform its City and team spirit that suffer. He leaves City in the summer regardless and don’t forget he didn’t exactly pull up any trees for us in his spell here. City will do a deal with Swindon and move on .

Doyle is a professional and we pay his wages. He won't sulk because it won't benefit him too and he will want to move in the summer.

The team spirit won't suffer either because he is leading goalscorer the division and the players will know if counted on then he can do the business.

Bowyer didn't want Doyle to leave and the mistake was to let him go to another div 2 club.

Let's stop being a weak club!! It's embarrassing!

We may have a clause in the contract as some do with an option to extend his contract if so that will throw a fly in the ointment

Doubt it but even if so then fine.

If we stay in div 2 then we know he can score.

If we go up then we sell him.

The aim is to go up and to do so we might have to take some risks.

There were plenty of professional players whom we paid last season and they sulked and didn’t perform. He clearly wants to stay at Swindon and I very much doubt he would perform for us like he is doing at Swindon if we drag him back up here kicking and screaming. We never got the best out of him while he was here, including under Bowyer and I don’t think it would suit either party to force him back.

It'd take a lot of goals out of Swindon's side.
