Fordy, you say we've played 3 since his return and only got 4 points from a possible 9. If you're including the game against you which he was illegible then yes 3 games and yes 4 points. You however in the same period played 4 and got 3 points. You've failed to win any of those and even where Doyle scored a hatrick for us you failed to get a point.
This however has changed today, we have now played 4 including the gane against you, you've played 5. We won 3-0 today against Port Vale you lost at Mansfield 3-0.
What I am getting at fella is people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Yes with a better manager you would do better, but until that happens pipe down son you're making yourself look very silly!

 

Can't blame the Swindon fans, I'd be laughing my ass off too. They saw how shit Bowyers football was before many of our own fans did. Never rated Swindon when we played them but they must be doing something right in all their other games.

My only problem was with their Twitter fans, never seen a group of people so obsessed. Hitting up a players wife on Twitter and begging them to come back to Swindon etc, was like we stole their player when it was just a loan. Very odd.

 

To the Swindon fans whom frequent these boards, fair play for your club kicking on when losing your top 2.

Seriously, Swindon don't need Doyle. They have even got Hope scoring who scored 3 in 30.

I would argue now that spend 150-200k on Doyle would be a waste at this moment.

 

To be fair would one be good without the other. If we had Doyle and not Wellens would it work ?, I don't think so, Wellens could possibly do something with the strikers you have, but it would mean a complete change in the style you play, although most posters on here can see that is what's needed.
No, much as I loved Doyle and would love to see him back I don't think he would be the same player without Wellens and his style of play. As you have said Wellens is going to be hard to keep. It does appear that Yates will be back, so would we have such a need for Doyle ?.
Maybe the best way out of this Fordy is for you and Bowyer to sit down and watch a few of Doyles games at Swindon, , maybe then you could explain to him the sort of service he needs as he doesn't seem to be seeing it at the moment. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, hopefully see you in league one next season.

 

I cant see what getting rid of Bowyer would achieve unless we have someone already lined up, we cant allow a rookie coach to be caretaker for any amount of games as we could be in a situation where the new man has too much lost ground to make up, a win on Tuesday night is a must or the calls for him out won't just be from a couple of hundred on a fans forum.
Win Tuesday night we then go to Oldham, this coming Saturday we usually fill the away end so there will be plenty of support getting behind the players, they need to deliver simple as that.

 

Usually when fans take against a manager, it would require not only a completely different style of play but 100% success before their judgement of him changes. I also think he has lost the dressing room, and that is normally followed by the manager leaving. Scraping a win tomorrow won’t cut it, yes the points we need. For me I look down the road, this is a pivotal few days, and the questions the board need to ask themselves can this manager gain promotion, and don’t forget they are watching the team as well, they haven’t imported the Board in from another planet

If they don’t make a decision this week, then in my view they will have thrown in the towel on promotion. The other just as pressing issue if not more is the sale of season tickets, my guess is that very few have been sold and yes they can console themselves it is early in the campaign, but a major factor is the lack of entertainment on show and the thought of having to watch more of the same is being served up next season will drive ST sales down.

My view, yes we want stability at the club, but we are also ambitious, unless they can persuade GB to completely change then this is likely to continue. Why not make the decision now and at least try going for promotion this season, ok if the new manager doesn’t achieve promotion we have lost nothing as I can’t see promotion on the horizon atm. However, we will have a new manager in post and hopefully if we’ll chosen he can not only galvanise the squad but bring in new players in the summer. I also don’t trust GB even with a decent budget to buy the right players. Sorry to ramble on, but just my thoughts.

Bowyer's mindset is all wrong. I posted quotes from your manager to ours from the pre match comments. Your manager talked about winning and entertaining but ours was talking how difficult a team Mansfield are ha. His mindset is defensive. It's not just Doyle he can't get a tune out of it's all our attackers and midfielders.

People like @Bronco seem to be scared of change! We urgently need to change our manager. We could win tomorrow and against Oldham but it would be papering over the cracks. Like what you've done, Liverpool, Man City, Wolves, Leeds, Rotherham, Exeter and many other clubs, you need to find a manager that's going to lead you for years, a manager with a plan on how to play the game. Not one fan on here can tell you what players or formation our joker of a manager will play on Tuesday.

Bowyer has no idea! He's just a man that wants a job and lucky to be in one at this moment.
