I think we can all see the predicament we're in.The fact is we have
been putting in dreadful performances for a long time now even
    when we've scraped a win.

The only thing keeping us in and around the auto's and play off's
is just how poor the teams are below us.If the chasing teams put in
any kind of winning consistency we would be mid to lower table now.

Winning breeds confidence, losing begets failure but tell that to Mansfield
as they replaced their poor form with mega confidence that they could beat
us! Why? Because I think out of all the teams in the league I think other teams
now look on us as being the 3 points on offer.

Things are becoming dire, our performances are equally bad as the last but look
like getting worse. This is bound to affect the players when the manager doesn't
do anything (or can't) and it's really getting to the fans.Currently,we are waiting
for the "performance" to change everything and get us back on track.I can't see
when that will happen so,we either accept this season as failure, even though we
are still in the play offs, or we get a new manager in straight away to see if he can
    turn things around.

We're not going to sell many season tickets with this level of entertainment on show
so longer term, things need to change urgently or we will cement our place in the
    basement for the foreseeable future!

Sucsess could possibly be measured by the one on one Connolly had with Olejnik the Stags keeper at Mansfield that goes in who knows, they were on a poor run fans start getting restless saying here we go again.

I think everybody’s prediction of how it would go with Doyle’s return has happened. Is it just coincidence that your downturn in performance and results has been since he returned? Your miserly defence has let in a few more than expected with nothing much happening at the other end either.

Having seen how Doyle had scored 23 goals for you, Bowyer has decided to lump the ball up to Doyle. That's the problem.

No it isn't a coincidence. i feel sorry for the lad to be honest, he's a much better fit at Swindon but it looks like the money situation will stop any further deal. The money saved on him could be much better used on a defensive midfielder or a decent left winger to give us some sort of balance.

This does sound as if he could be on his way

There are times in the window, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, where things come to your attention which you have to act upon. Everything we do over the next week will be in the best interest of the football club."

The best interest of our football club is to sack Bowyer, get someone to play to Doyle's strength who is a proven goal scorer at this level.

Clutching a bit there Bronco. It was the only chance we created and of choose goals change games but we've seen nothing lately to suggest we could keep a lead even if we'd been given one.

Getting Bowyer out of the club is a far more pressing concern than whether Doyle sees out the last few months of his contract or not.

I try and always look on the positive side of things, who knows what would have happened, yes our defense has struggled recently maybe because they know to get a point they have to keep a clean sheet.

    :joy: Fair play.

What is the make up for the deal? Is it only to the end of season he's signed for?

    100k deal?

See the thing is it risk v reward. That 100k will generate you 1m when(if) you go up.

My basket case club expects the most boring manager we have had to please fans and for us to go up with a sweater shop budget.

Bradford City are getting ruin under Rhodes, Bowyer and Rupp.

Give me Power, Jewell and Wellens any day of the week. Them 3 will be laughing at Bradford City and our 14k fans tonight!

100k is being bandied about. I reckon some of that will be made up if/when we go up.

Sounds (is) a lot for a contract for another 3 months, but it'll be worth it if we go up. That, and my guess is that there'll be a clause for an extension should we get promoted.

In all seriousness Fordy, i've really enjoyed the back and forth with you over the past few weeks. You're clearly very passionate about your club and i'm sure Bowyer must have something up his sleeve tomorrow to let his 2 strikers go. It would be complete madness if he didn't.

I'm not really sure about the structure of the deal. If what you say is correct, it's a bit of a risk and we absolutely must get promoted now. We have all the tools so there's not really any excuses anymore. I am glad we don't have to play you again. We struggled in those games.

Heard rumours of Woolery going the other way but that seems dead now? you must have money to burn! Doyle and Vaughan must've been on a combined 9-10k wage?

It's what I said a fortnight ago £75k plus with added bonuses if Swindon get promoted talk is that's around £50k, plus we haven't had to pay his wage up for season because he wanted to go. So would think we are talking a few hundred k saved.
