If there is no desire to make a change within the club then we may as well take whatever is on on offer. Doyle will never succeed playing in a team of our 'style', he is out of contract so might as well just take the money and save on the wages.

 

Doyle going back to Swindon and us getting a fee for him is good business IMO.

 

If the rumour of 90k is correct it isn't. Double it and I think that is a fair deal.

You and others keep saying Doyle is wasted in our set up, we've seen Doyle in two games for us and he's been average at best (that's not saying he hasn't grafted) so what point is there in keeping him if for whatever reason he doesn't fit in, I don't know where that figure of £90k has come from but I'd be happy with the club to take it and the savings on his wages from now until June, possible savings of £200k for a player we can't get the best from no brainer for me.

 

I hope Vaughan is just the two match ban but his early substitution on Saturday, going down in the centre circle prior to his sub and the clutching of his calf has me worried it may possibly be longer. I guess we will find out next Tuesday.

If Doyle was average at best then shouldn't we get rid of the other woeful garbage that were miles worse than Doyle first?

 

Here is a question for you;
If we keep Doyle, City will have a striker making 30 goals this season*(unless he fails to score 6 more which is very possible with "BowyerBall").
* technically Doyle hasnt scored many for us but he has scored a hatful.

So the last City player to score 30 in a season?
Dave might know the answer.
City is a bloody graveyard for prolific strikers though.

 

Yes if another team are prepared to pay a fee and the manager believes the money on offer is right for said player, surely your not trying to justify two average at best performances against Crawley and Scunthorpe because that's exactly what they were, average.
At this moment in time there isn't one player in the club I wouldn't sell for the right fee, there isn't one player I have any infinity with unlike past squads and players.

Being generous, where Bowyer has been particularly unlucky is in having his two most creative midfielders - Pritchard and Devitt - out for long periods. They are the only ones who can create chances from central midfield by carrying the ball forward, running at central defenders or playing quality balls through channels to Doyle and Vaughan.
It's possible that Doyle and Vaughan could thrive with either or both of Pritchard and Devitt in the side, providing them with decent ammunition. But will either be available before the end of the transfer window to test this out?
Certainly if we are going to keep playing lumpball forward with a massive disconnect between our deep midfield and our attackers then Doyle may as well go back to Swindon, for his sake and ours. We'd be better off getting what we can for him and spending it on a proper DM who can tackle and a big forrard as cover for/competition to Donaldson. If we're going to play nine man defence with two up front we might as well launch it up to a big lump rather than watch Doyle struggle for the rest of this season as much as he did last term.

 

Rip their hands off, I'll drive him down.

 

That might just tip Fordy over the edge.

 

The point is if you have a player like Donaldson it enables the midfield to push forward because he can hold the ball up essentiall if we play 442 helpful with others systems of play.
