    Agreed that is one of the benefits of the loan system: you can send players out on loan for a variety of reasons and recall them if it is to your advantage. Special pleading doesn’t come into it. It certainly doesn’t when we were subsidising Doyle’s wages.

    maybe Swindon are waiting for Jayden Bogle to be transferred from Derby Swindon have a large sell on fee if he goes they will have a decent transfer pot

    Yet three different strikers given 'free license' ...... who knows what they could achieve ?
    I suspect NO defense would like the prospect of facing these three on the go, given that.

    We could do with Doyle signing a contract extension with us. Either to guarantee ourselves a form striker for next season, or to ensure we get some money for him this summer rather than letting him go on a bosman.

    This is ridiculous. JR and Bowyer not to mention Rupp, have completed discussions on Doyle. He is back at City. We need him to continue his form that he has been in for City. They will have spoken to Swindon many times over the last few weeks, and no doubt have given them a ball park figure without prejudice and they have not agreed to pay that amount. Plus even if they did, we might have said we need him and we are not prepared to leave him on loan.
    If this carry’s on much longer they should be reported to the EFL for trying to ‘tap up a player’ this will all settle down once he starts scoring for us. I honestly don’t think we would accept any deal now as it is leaving us short on time to negotiate another striker. They can do the running around on that front. Let’s face if he had flopped, he would be back here in a flash. It’s hard having good loan players in, and being an integral part of the team.

    What and you think mugging Bradford will just wait around for that to happen and if it happens. Give the club you support some credit.

    He's not linked to any club and doubt Derby will sell in Jan anyway.

    I would say that Peter Downsborough was probably the best signing City ever made from Swindon Town! Legend at both clubs.

    Peter was great keeper and served us well but David Layne was a class act destined for better things and unfortunatly we couldn't hold on to him when bigger clubs came calling,
