alright fordy, no one got a tune out of him like Swindon are. Why let him go if he was so good? I don’t recall a massive uproar when he left. I’m not saying i agree he left, or that we shouldn’t recall him - my gut feeling is if we do, it won’t work as well with us at it is doing at Swindon. I’m allowed a gut feeling, apologies it doesn’t fit with the all knowing Fordy paradigm.

In fairness, no one is saying he'll get another 20 goals by May.

I think the general consensus is that if we recall him, around another 10 goals between now and the end of the season would be an acceptable return.

It would work if we had a better wing back than Henley. Unfortunately in these more technical systems, each player has to be able to do a good job, as each position tends to be more multifaceted. So Henley, has to be a terrier like full back and then confidently join in with the attacks, which then drags the midfield forward. He does neither. And i do blame Bowyer for persisting with him - he's a mentally weak player.

I'd simply abandon playing him and have the three centre halves, as both the O'Connors are fine at dovetailing and acting as RB's. Then I'd simply play another midfielder

It's tellingly, that Wood was involved in the goal and apparently at one time recently, had the best crossing stats in the entire pyramid. Well done to him for wanting to play his part and obviously relishing in the 'roll your sleeves up' style Bowyer encourages - I thought he had no part to play, this season

But the second big problem is that there is no-one better at this level than Donaldson at occupying two defenders and holding the ball up, so we are then always at least 15m further forward

We actually lack a proper defensive midfielder, which is probably why Bowyer plays three at the back.

Doyle is your player. If you want to recall him there is no need to discuss anything. He does as he’s told, we have no say in things either. Easy peasy.
